IMPACT HITS
Jarrett-Foley Opening Segment: To the surprise of absolutely no one, Jeff Jarrett has put himself in the main event (again). But the build-up of this main event match at Sacrifice has been built up better than it started off. I absolutely agreed with Mick Foley's challenge to Jarrett to put up his voting shares so that Jarrett could fit in with every other opponent's "Sacrifice" to get in the main event. And Foley set up some good matches for later that night (more on that later) with some logic behind them. There is actually now some positive build-up towards the PPV this Sunday, which TNA has had a problem with doing in the past.
Lethal Consequences vs. Motor City Machine Guns vs. Daniels & Suicide: I actually laughed out loud at Don West's comment about Daniels beating himself to get the X-Division title this Sunday at their match-up. And I can't complain one bit about a Daniels vs. Kaz-icide title matchup on Sunday. This week's three-way tag match had some crisp moves, and no team looked too weak coming out. I was a little surprised that MCMG and Lethal Consequences didn't hook up against each other very much, as they've had some great matches as well, but the fact that both teams wanted to take out the Daniels-Suicide team made sense there, so I'll let that slide. I didn't like the finishing move by Suicide at the end, but overall a good match by all six men involved.
Eric Young vs. Sting: Sting looks to have his dancing shoes back on as he leads into Sacrifice. And Young showed some good offense and didn't look weak in the loss either. Young is obviously way out of Sting's league, but Jarrett telling Young to grow a set and stand up for himself was long overdue. But why didn't Young even mention his kidnapping by Samoa Joe last week? Is that angle dead?
Kurt Angle vs. Matt Morgan: Holy hell freezes over, Matt Morgan gets listed in a Hit. Sure, he can thank Kurt Angle A LOT for the assist here, with Angle making Morgan's moves look like they hurt a lot, but Morgan actually wasn't too sloppy or too stiff with his moveset. Morgan SHOULD look like a huge monster that can dominate most people (that's where TNA is booking him, after all) and he did so. It took the superior wrestling ability of Angle to sneak out the victory, and he even gave a handshake to Morgan in the end.
IMPACT MISSES
Awesome Kong-Angelina Love contract signing: Snore. Don't these contract signings generally all end up the same way? Someone gets beaten up, and 9 times out of 10, the table gets eaten by someone. This week is was the ref's job to take the plunge. I do like Awesome Kong's continued show of dominance, but as I've stated before, I just wish that Angelina Love would do something, ANYTHING, to show that she has even a snowball's chance in hell of beating Kong. I did like Love's last-minute cowardly way of trying to get out of her match while still getting her insults in at the same time, but the overall segment was just kinda blah.
Jenna Morasca: She's not that good looking, she can't cut an interview for the life of her, and the angle between Morasca and Sharmell has done absolutely nothing to intrigue the viewers. Please get this woman off of my TV as soon as possible.
Mick Foley vs. A Piece Of Cardboard: No other way to sum this up outside of STUPID. And Don West calling the match like Mick Foley was in an actual match was just ridiculous. The ending cluster-bomb between Foley, Jarrett, Sting, and Angle was somewhat predictable as we've seen it in just about every other "last show before a PPV" in both TNA and WWE. But the whole thing with "Rocky" was just too strange for school.
Too Many "Cross The Line" Videos: Yes, I know, this is one of those things that TNA has been doing for months now. But I, for one, have had enough of them. One or two of these little mini-TNA promos are just fine, but when you have about six or eight each week, you're just taking up way too much time from some of the matches on the card. Or you can go ahead and push your PPV when it's this Sunday. No problem there either. You can give the wrestlers some more mic time (yeah right, that'll ever happen). Or what about extend a hot match another five minutes. There are just so many ways you can take advantage of that time.
