ROH TV HITS

Kenny Omega vs. Kenny King vs. Jay Briscoe: I'm a big fan of all three competitors in this match, so I was looking forward to this already. Kenny King's work as a heel continues to impress. He's arrogant, brash, and incredibly athletic to back it up. Omega is another favorite, his quirky babyface persona playing to the crowd well. I loved the opening with Omega saying "it's no fun unless there's sportsmanship," only to be promptly laid out by Jay. Hogewood made sure to mention that Omega had yet to score a victory on HDNet, which allowed me to guess the ending. Still fun, regardless. At one point, while Briscoe had Omega in a front facelock King executed a springboard blockbuster on Jay who then simultaneously landed a DDT on Omega.

American Wolves-Steenerico Feud: I love to listen to Steen talk... he always brings a smile to my face. After being put through a table the previous week, they were hot to get at the Wolves. I must say that Richards's voice doesn't seem to match his look, and it always takes me aback when I hear him on the mic. Not bad work, though. This promo set up their championship match (now a tables match) perfectly for the following week. I can't wait to see it! Furthermore, any time Shane Hagadorn is abused, I will be there to award a "hit."

Lynn, Danielson Interviews: Both of these were outstanding. Unlike Lynn's interviews series in recent Video Wires, Lynn stuck to kayfabe while still sounding genuine. He's not long on charisma but you can tell he means what he says. Danielson has thrived more in this sit-down type setting than he does during many promos. I appreciated putting over the amount of training the two men undertake, placing emphasis on just how important this match will be. I am looking forward to hearing A-Double (always a winner on the mic) and Black do their interviews on the next show.

Chris Hero vs. Eddie Kingston: I am a fan of both men. Hero is a total package, and Kingston's ferocity and emotion on the mic are nigh on unprecedented. The match told an effective story with Kingston taking punishment in extremis before finally losing it. The finish of the match lets us enjoy more contests between the two while still being in the dark as to who will actually win.

ROH TV MISSES

Brodie Lee & Jimmy Jacobs vs. The Necro Butcher & Delirious: This wasn't a bad match, but I question its main event status. Brodie Lee doesn't do it for me, and I am also baffled by the continual references to the Age of the Fall. Aren't there only three members now, including MsChif? I suppose three is enough for a faction. I would rather have seen this match a bit shorter and in the middle of the show. When Necro takes a suplex to the outside I always die a little inside.

Dark City Fight Club: I want to like these guys. I really do. But if I don't stop seeing squash match after squash I am going to lose interest... quickly.
