"-So who do we believe in this Angle mess? Kurt Angle or Rhaka Khan? As of right now, there's no clear-cut answer.
Here's an example: My buddy (who we will call "Jake") was recently fired from his job. Why? They said that he was sexually harassing a girl. The girl was uncomfortable with working with Jake and got him fired.
But as Jake told me, he was flabbergasted and embarrassed that a sexual harassment thing popped up. He didn't make any sexual references or sly threats. He didn't do anything remotely of the sort. He was just talking with the girl. But guess who management believed? They believed the girl. Jake felt jilted out of a job. Who was right? Who was wrong?
Was their an altercation between Kurt and Rhaka? Like with most court cases, this thing has quickly become muddled with "he said/she said" nonsense.
It is known that juries tend to favor women over men. Angle doesn't want to be painted as an out-of-control maniac who abuses women. And while I can digest Angle saying that he was "set up" by Rhaka, it's still a weak defense. Angle contradicting himself doesn't help matters. But I don't understand Rhaka's whole motive in this thing.
And, by the way, the current TNA World Heavyweight champion is still Kurt Angle. So somebody in TNA views this whole thing as insignificant like when Kurt Angle got pulled over for a DUI. Just a minor traffic ticket. He's good to go in a short while. TNA wants this black cloud hanging over them to just go away. Kurt Angle's tears can't do it. But a huge settlement can.
Maybe, to get down to the bottom of this, we need...a sit-down interview. Pull up a chair alongside the professor Mike Tenay and let's share our honest feelings...on the next Impact.
-ECW was Regal's night. Or more like Regal's new group, the Triangle of Terror. The Hammer and Sickle. The Axis of Evil. I wish there were more nicknames in wrestling (Brett Favre being called the "Purple Judas" is cool beans). It's comforting to know that Regal, Kozlov, and Jackson (how about "The Terror Connection"?) would wipe the mat with Legacy. I'm sick of this puny tag teams WWE throws around. Give me some beefed up tall monsters who dress weirdly.
-The saddest thing in all of television right now is the Abraham Washington show. Much like with the Mike Adamle experiment, this looks to be purely "let's use him until his contract ends because we've got nothing else." And fans can see the whole point of the show. It's a way to introduce or to pump up current feuds. But there's a glaring problem with the Abraham Washington show. It's Abraham Washington.
This is wrestling. Meaning our bar of expectations is not set very high. We're not expecting hundred percent quality for every bit. But this whole Washington thing is turning out to be sad. I'm starting to think that they have the bit on stage not because they want to show the fans heading to the concession stands, but because it's not good practice to show people heavily depressed. It's not even working as a wrestling bit, meaning that it's not getting over. The bit should be shown in black and white while dramatic music plays in the background.
Sure, WWE will say that the show is "controversial," which is another phrase for "suckfest." It's just really, really sad to see Washington basically beg for attention. As for Washington, I think he should get a job in torturing people. He has the special ability of making two minutes seem like two hours. And as much as I want to hate the guy, hating a guy who highest brain power usage is a "Jenny Craig" joke...I feel like I should give him some money. Oh, you couldn't read that? Know why? Because you are from (insert your home state here) and y'all are just a bunch of illiterate (rednecks/preppies/liberals/satanists/Canadians). Oh! Oh! I got a little bit of reaction! I'm getting so over! (Insert dated joke here). Uh! How about that!
You got to give it to WWE. Every year they find a way to screw up ECW in some fashion. The Abraham Washington show won't get canned next week - they can't show the Raw Recap five times in one show - because it serves a purpose in making us all cry. Maybe it's Washington's destiny to be hit in the head with a VCR like the good ol' E-C-W days. And maybe the vacant, nonchalant WWE crowd who are waiting for the next commercial to air on the Titantron can transform into the vibrant, passionate and loco ECW fans who angrily chant "STFU" and "Change The Channel" to drown out this Washington garbage. Maybe. One day.
Now, if you excuse me, got to make like Tommy Dreamer's pants and split. Oh! Oh! I know! That's right! Woo! What I'm saying is, he's really fat! Don't sit on me dog! Ha ha! Wait! Whoa! Where you get that barbwire? Stay away from me!
