"I don't want to waste your time
I just want to say
I've got to say
We worked hard, darling
We don't have no control
We're under control
"
-"Under Control" by The Strokes

-Sometimes, wrestling PPVs are aptly named. TNA's "No Surrender" signifies no retreating, no falling back, full steam ahead despite the consequences. But TNA needs to take a hard look at their product. You know what I'm looking forward to at the next Impact? Signals that TNA is moving in a new direction (and not another random brawl). You only have to take a look at the PPV to know that things are a mess in TNA right now. After reading the PPV reports, I have some thoughts on "No Sense."

-Angelina Love leaving TNA hurts the Beautiful People as a tag team since they built Madison Rayne to be as significant as carry-on luggage. I'm somewhat confident that Wilde & Sarita as Knockouts tag team champions along with ODB as Knockouts champion will bring about solid matches on Impact. I'm clawing for anything now.

-I'll bet money that the people over in TNA have fawned over Taz announcing over Don West. Problem is that Taz is just shooting the s--- and mostly only promoting himself. Taz isn't being handled very well at the moment.

-Joe and Daniels tried to re-live some X Division magic but it's just not in the cards nowadays. You need some youngins to pull this off. The Motor City Machineguns? Off busy playing Halo: ODST. I don't know why they are still employed by TNA, considering that most of the bits that they are in lately are pointless. And Sabin vs. Shelly at the start of the year was a TNA Match of the Year contender.

-Not even God knows why the Pope and Spiderman fought in a falls count anywhere match. Sure, I like crazy spots. I also like things like "context," "storytelling," "meaning," "past and future with present storyline," and such. People are eating tables in these type of matches and it means nothing. These guys resemble test monkeys rather than wrestlers. Jump. Jump. Good. You're rewarded with...nothing. At least this stuff is not the SoCal Val love triangle. Ugh.

By the way, whatever the hell happened to Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed?

-Did anybody ask the question during creative meetings if anybody cares if Kevin Nash wins $50,000? Or to see Abyss become the Legends championship? Good luck trying to explain to somebody who doesn't watch wrestling why exactly Nash vs. Abyss took place. Two good things that came out of this match: TNA got to do some more tasering (seriously, they have a tasering fetish or something. Total Nonstop Tasering) and Mick Foley got some more airtime (because, darn it, his quirky bits just aren't enough). Maybe he's heel. Maybe he's not. Does it really matter? No. Maybe Foley will show the back of his minivan again. Because it's "unique."

-Seems that the Lethal Lockdown match was fun. Fun if you like guys standing around going through the motions. Beer Money gets the win. Whooo. What can we take away from this, since in this situation it means absolutely nothing in the TNA realm? I'm trying to think of a TNA PPV match this year where the outcome was as important as DX losing to Legacy. Is it possible that a PPV can resemble a glorified house show? In TNA that line blurs.

-Bobby Lashley became a 100-pound weakling tonight. Whatever amount of hype he had coming (many of us were desperate for a new young face to fight MEM, after getting doses of old guys like Mick Foley and Jeff Jarrett) died tonight. Now we know why they call him "The Boss." Because he never works and shows up when he wants to. What a waste. It will be good to see Rhino team up with British Invasion and feud with Team 3D...wait a minute, that sucks.

-Herny has been heavily dropping the hint that he's going to become the next World Champion. After he kills Eric Young, he shows up at the main event. Eh eh, says TNA. They bring in Eric Young. Yet more Herny feuding with World Elite. Sigh. It makes sense with A.J. Styles winning the TNA world championship. Oh well. I like border tosses on Eric Young. You know why they brought out Herny? It's because it's what they would have done if it was being televised. Keep the viewers interested because the match itself is a crapburger. I was kind of expecting that they would cut to commercial after Herny got injured. Stay tuned?

-The ending of the PPV was similar to the conclusion of Washington Huskies upsetting USC. But it wasn't as rewarding as it could have been. I wouldn't be surprised if A.J. was given the victory nod five minutes before the match started. It was out of nowhere, and not in a good way. I'm a Sting fan, but he shouldn't be holding the gold. Morgan winning would be like Jack Swagger winning the WWE championship. It's too soon. And Angle is Angle. We're putting a lot of blind hope that TNA can execute A.J. championship's run. Recent examples aren't encouraging.

-TNA PPVs are not worth buying. TNA Impacts are not worth watching. It's time for a reboot. And it can come in the form of Bound For Glory. What does that mean? A PPV main event that's one vs. one. No more of this "lump everybody together" nonsense. I'm thinking A.J. Styles vs. Kurt Angle, Sting vs. Matt Morgan, Mick Foley vs. Abyss and ...Kevin Nash giving out the $50,000 to the crowd. I was surprised to hear that the PPV crowd was "The Impact Zone," considering how nonplussed they were.

Look, they can have six-sided rings. They can have girls dancing in cages. They can have their champion be called "smelly crap on a stick." Whatever. I watch wrestling because I want to get emotionally involved in feuds. I want to be taken for a ride. I want the rewarding payoff. I want to see great action that actually means a damn thing. I give not one rat's ass over Matt Morgan's "dilemma" over choosing rather to join Angle or not. Why don't I care? Because there's no reason to. Take a vacation. Take a week off. Do something. It's not just the "smarky Internet crowd." It's the majority who are sitting in bored silence. "The s--- got old."

Okay. We have A.J. Styles as champion. We have Bound for Glory. And we have yet more TNA tasering coming up. We'll see what they do this time around. Wouldn't be shocked if Bound For Glory ripped off WWE's "Scramble" match concept. Because TNA just can't do PPV main events that are straight up singles contests, it seems.
