SUPERSTARS HITS

Christian vs. Regal: The only highlight on Superstars this week was the main event. Christian and William Regal put on a good match which isn't surprising as they have worked well in the ring together in the past. The match went 13 minutes and was quite enjoyable. I like how Ezekiel Jackson was kicked out of the ringside area early on. That allowed for him to be present and have some contact with Christian helping hype their PPV ECW Title match coming up in a few weeks, while also getting him out of the way early so that the match was just one-on-one. The match went back and forth nicely and built well to a good ending. It was interesting to see Christian escape the Regal Stretch. They booked the match nicely to have Christian make several short comebacks only to have Regal quickly regain control. It was a good match.

SUPERSTARS MISSES

None: These Superstars Hits & Misses seem to be getting shorter. Superstars finds itself in a bit of a rut. It isn't a bad show. I enjoy it for the most part. There was nothing bad about this week's episode. The opening mixed tag match of Primo & Gail Kim vs. Chavo Guerrero & Jillian was solid. There were some nice moments in it. It wasn't quite Hit worthy, but it was fine. Carlito vs. Chris Masters was ok. It wasn't as good as Masters vs. Ted DiBiase from last week, but it wasn't bad. I don't like Masters and would much rather see Carlito get a push, but it was just Superstars so I'm not going to worry too much about it. The Ask the Divas segment was ok. Jimmy Wang Yang & Slam Master J vs. Mike Knox & Charlie Haas was a good enough tag match, but neither team is ever going to get a real push, so I can't get worked up over one team winning or the other team losing. Both teams do have some potential, and with the established teams of Cryme Tyme and The Hart Dynasty, there could actually be a tag team division on Smackdown, but I doubt it. Throw in the usual Raw Rebound and you have the first 45 minutes or so of this show that were just so-so. Not bad, not really good either.
