"Just remember this, my girl
When you look up in the sky
You can see the stars
And still not see the light"
-"Already Gone" by The Eagles
-Take your illegitimate children to see Rock's new movie, "The Tooth Fairy" this weekend. Tagline: "Watch as Rock sells some more of his dignity for that sweet Hollywood cash!" Hell, anyone of us would dress up as a tooth fairy to make money.
-Folks over in TNA might wonder why so many of us were frustrated when Sean Morley a/k/a Val Venis got a PPV victory over Christopher Daniels. Nice stat that I read over the weekend: Morley's last PPV appearance was a dark PPV match in 2005. When did Morley last win a PPV match over a male? Roughly nine years ago.
-I think I just made Charlie Haas's day. He should send some chocolates over to Hulk Hogan so that he can get his big push down in TNA.
-I'm not surprised that Vince Russo keeps shutting down his Facebook page. Nobody really likes criticism and any writer in the wrestling world has been called everything under the sun. It is true that some people just hate people who are successful, but it's foolish to just entrench yourself
in hoggishness and say, "My way is the right way."
-I keep thinking that five months from now (after the Hogan thing fizzles), a TNA PPV will bring back the six-sided ring under orders from Jeff Jarrett. "I'm bringing back the original TNA!" screams Jarrett to cheers.
-What is the "original TNA?" To me, the original TNA is the one that actually had an X Division.
-We give Triple H grief, but I can't stand a typical Jeff Jarrett storyline.
-Cheech and Chong will guest host a Monday Night Raw in the future. Imagine the cast of Pokemon smoking weed and you get the idea.
-I think people who are waiting for the next "Rock" tend to forget that it took a while before the Rock became "The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment." I think it's foolish to believe that green-as-grass guys who only spent six seconds in FCW suddenly can become the next Rock. Hell, it's hard to top the Rock singing "Smackdown Hotel" during a PPV match in Memphis. I love heels who can make me laugh.
-As a hardcore fan, I like to know when wrestlers are injured for real. But in the case of the Undertaker, that is one case where I wish I never heard the news. Much like with Kurt Angle, I keep worrying about the Undertaker's health status. I guess sometimes as a wrestling fan, ignorance is bliss.
-Undertaker vs. Mysterio at the PPV should surprise some people. WWE could reward Mysterio with him winning the gold, then have the next month on Smackdown feature Batista gunning after the World champion Mysterio (the main Smackdown feud right now is Batista vs. Mysterio
anyways) and Undertaker winning back the gold in the Elimination Chamber.
-By the way, whenever I hear "Elimination Chamber," I think of a toilet. The PPV poster will feature a wrestler sitting on a john.
-Hopefully there is a new take on HBK vs. Undertaker II. I wouldn't mind the match being for the World Heavyweight Championship, which would mean HBK winning the Rumble (still, shouldn't it be one of the young pups?) and HBK going fully heel.
-Christian vs. Ezekiel Jackson at the Rumble. Oh boy. It's hard to go into the match with an open mind.
-Perhaps it might Cena vs. Batista at Mania for the WWE Championship.
-I still can't wrap my head around Triple H vs. Sheamus at Mania. Trips tapping out to Cena at Mania is one thing, but losing to Sheamus? It would be quite a site to see Sheamus get "the victory of a lifetime." Or Trips boringly raising his arms in victory. Take your pick.
-I'm a bit miffed that Conan O'Brien is off the air. NBC pricks. Speaking about bad decisions, one would be Sheamus claiming that he's on Team Coco and Orton saying he loves Jay Leno. Sheamus vs. Orton at the Rumble is Sheamus's WrestleMania try-out.
-About the Kofi Kingston RKO botch: I understand Orton wanting perfection in his work, but hey, stuff happens. You gotta be flexible.
-Awesome Kong vs. Beth Phoenix one day? I'm liking Kelly Kelly more and more.
-I'm beginning to think that Jeff Hardy appearance in TNA was a hallucination.
-It's pretty much a guara-damn-tee that C.M. Punk and Luke Gallows will win the Unified tag team championship belts from DX.
-When you're watching NFL football this week, you'll see a bunch of crazy people screaming their lungs out. You'll hear the ovation, the cheers. On Impact, you'll hear people going crazy, but perhaps you won't see anybody's mouths move.
I don't mind "audio sweetening," because that implies that a particular wrestler got a reaction at all. What I do mind is when a wrestling organization pipe in "boos" or "yays" for whoever they want to get over. Piping in "cheers" for Sean Morley contradicts the reality of bored, disinterested faces in the crowd.
-If TNA wants their crowd to play along, they should really just hire plants to replace the ones who face the hard camera. Get people who will play along with what you are selling. Or, you know, actually bother to listen to what the majority of the fans believe.
-I was worried that the greatness MCMG and Young Bucks put out was going to be overshadowed by TNA pimping Hulk Hogan. Thankfully, the bookers let this match breathe and there was at least two Young Bucks spots where I had to rewind to see them again (Jeremy's slick moves won me over).
-I have a feeling Kurt Angle would be welcomed back in the WWE with open arms. Angle really made the Montreal Screwjob re-hash work.
-That's it for me. Keep watching sports-entertainment.
