SUPERSTARS HITS

MVP & Kingston vs. Carlito & Ryder: Superstars tends to be a show where fans get solid to good wrestling matches. That was the case this week with three pretty good matches, starting with this tag match. Montel Vontavious Porter and Kofi Kingston worked well together as a team. There is chemistry there that could be exploited in the future. It was interesting how Carlito's rookie, Michael Tarver was involved as MVP played mind games early on with Carltio by attacking Tarver. Carlito and Zack Ryder performed well in the match also. I particularly liked the ending sequence as Kingston used his head to keep himself in the ring, countering Carlito, who was distracted and took a Trouble In Paradise kick for the loss.

Croft & Barreta vs. The Hart Dynasty: I liked that Caylen Croft and Trent Barreta got in some mic time before their match against The Hart Dynasty. They did a nice job reintroducing themselves to the WWE Universe. They have some potential in the ring, and this showed some potential on the mic too. The same can be said for the gimmick as well. This was a good show case for the recently turned babyface team of Tyson Kidd and DH Smith. The crowd seemed behind them here. I still am not very impressed by DH Smith, but I really enjoy Kidd's work in the ring. He at least has a bright future. The match was at its best when he was in the ring working with Croft & Barreta. The spring board Hart Attack is a great finisher, although now it appears that it will be the set up for a Sharpshooter.

SUPERSTARS MISSES

Regal Loses: William Regal's match against Yoshi Tatsu was a bit short, but good while it lasted. It really was Hit-worthy, however I wasn't thrilled with the outcome. WWE should be doing more to protect the NXT pros. Obviously, there are some big stars (including two main eventers in Chris Jericho and CM Punk) among the pros, but the mid card guys like Regal seem to always lose which doesn't do much for their position as mentors. On a show that already featured NXT pro Carltio taking the loss, why not have Regal get the win? We don't see either of them win ever. So, when Heath Slater beats Carltio, Michael Cole can make a big deal out of it all he wants, but Carlito at this point is a glorified jobber. I understand having him lose this week to Kingston & MVP, but why not give Regal the win over Tatsu? I am a fan of Tatsu, but he didn't need the win this week.
