WWE Raw Reax #1: "The dark cloud named John Cena that has hung over the title has passed." Oct 9, 2007 - 2:06:36 PM
Jay Povo of Sturbridge, Mass. (7.0): Best: Kennedy-Hardy, HBK is back. Worst: Triple H in the Handicap Match. I agree with Keller; after hearing so much about what Triple H went through last night, for him to have any offense, let alone as much as he did, is unrealistic and just too much. So I really enjoyed the fantastic beat down Umaga gave him. Ken Kennedy and Jeff Hardy are going to have a great series of matches. At first I thought it was dumb to announce the match right before it started instead of hyping it all night, but if they're about to begin a long feud its probably better to save the hype. The rest of the show ranged from boring to decent, except of course for the ending. After delivering big time last night at No Mercy, Mr. McMahon delivers another shocker, and HBK is back. Now Cena will be gone for a while, DX is back from injury, the suspensions have ended, and Y2J will probably be back in three weeks. I told you there was a light at the end of that dark tunnel Raw was in a month ago...
Paul from Ann Arbor Mich. (7.0) Best: Hardy vs. Kennedy. Worst: Tag match. What a breath of fresh air. Am I the only one who feels it? The dark cloud named John Cena that has hung over the title has passed. I know Randy Orton is not the ideal champion, but he looks great comparatively. A new heel champion, a very over DX, the buzz of a possible Y2J return - and all of a sudden the fed has new energy like they haven't had since Cena won the title in the first place. The two year Cena staleness is over. He drove me away. I barely watched before WrestleMania, but after he retained again I quit watching. When I heard he would be out for a while I came back. Futures looking a little brighter, and if Raw brings more matches like the Hardy vs. Kennedy main event, they may keep me.
Joe Stanton of Baton Rouge, La. (3.0): Best Match: HBK's foot to Randy Orton's head, Worst Match: Six Diva Tag. I don't know if the much talked about "Save Us.222" promos have been in reference to HBK, but he certainly saved a lackluster edition of Raw last night. To get things started, we were treated to even more of Mr. McMahon and the son-in-law (Jesus, how many times have I seen his ring entrance over the last two days... that's a lotta water!) To top that off, Vince makes tonight's main event... drumroll...a handicap match! Man, I never saw that one coming! So paint-by-numbers! The obligatory diva's match sucked, as always. Hornswoggle McMahon has already run its course and is no longer the least bit amusing. Two top heels, one of them the world champ, need a steel chair to take out one guy? It was funny that even Cena had to put over Triple H in his interview. Disgusting. Why is Randy Orton no longer allowed to show emotion? He used to be a cocky, arrogant heel, now he's been reduced to an angry automation. Thank God for HBK, the only bright spot in an otherwise awful show.
Daren C. of Hindman, Ky. (2.5): Best Segment/Match: Surprise HBK Return, Hardy/Kennedy. Worst Match: Orton & Umaga vs. Super H. Raw really started off with a bang this week. That's good because the Bills were on their way to upset city against Dallas and I know that caught several viewer's attention. However, Vince must not like ratings because Raw then went to the divas match, the Snitsky squash, and Triple H being Superman again. The only thing that I hoped for was HBK to return and help Triple H after his beating, but no such luck. So I consequently quit watching as I was bored to tears. I read about the great Kennedy-Hardy match and hope WWE keeps this feud going. I was surprised to read of HBK's return at the end of the show, almost as much as I was surprised the Cowboys win after having six turnovers. I worry about the future for Y2J if he does indeed return, as I fear he will be lost in the shuffle on Raw with Triple H and HBK obviously going to feud again over Triple H saying, "Why didn't you come save me? Instead, you look out for yourself you selfish..." Raw surprised me by bringing HBK back, but I fear that this means the undercard will get even worse. Y2J's return will be meaningless, and HBK-Triple H will feud until Cena comes back. Overall, the future is dim for Raw. Save yourself Y2J, stay home, or go to TNA.

PWTORCH FORMAT CONVENTIONS
For the sake of clarity to our readers (and to save us time editing these same things over and over), please follow these simple conventions when writing Torch Reax:
-Wrestlers teaming together should be connected with "&" symbol (e.g. Hunter & Michaels, Devon & Ray) or with a "/" (e.g. Animal/Hawk, Harris/Storm), but not dashes and not the word "and."
-To designate wrestlers who are fighting, feuding, or wrestling each other, put a dash (-) between them (e.g. Michaels-McMahon, Jarrett-Sting, Hogan-Andre) or use "vs."
-The word versus should always be abbreviated this way: "vs." with a period afterward (not "v." or "v/s" or "VS" or "VS." or any other way).
-Plus, it's just our policy, but we don't indulge wrestling promotions' strange spelling fetishes where they spell Raw, Smackdown, Heat, Impact, etc. with the haphazard capitalization of various leTTeRz. It seems very "junior high," so no Raw (it's Raw), no iMPACT (it's Impact), etc.
-Please try to avoid overuse of dot-dot-dots. If you have a thought that's "trailing off," you can use for effect, but otherwise, just use periods, commas, and our personal favorite, semicolons if you dare. We have always had a policy of only one exclamation point and no ALL CAPS. Let your words convey the meaning of your point. There's many to choose from out there.
