TNA Bound for Glory PPV Reax #1: "I'd recommend this PPV to anyone wanting to enjoy great wrestling athleticism unrivaled." Oct 14, 2007 - 10:34:25 PM
Timothy "YP2K" of Atlanta, Ga. (9.5): Best match: Hard to decide, but I'll go with Joe vs Christian. Worst match: Monsters Ball. This was by far the best PPV we've seen all year. The athleticism in TNA right now is matched by none. TNA should look into more and more shows on the road, because every show on the road has had a special feel with the crowd interaction; but this crowd is unmatched by any TV or PPV event this year. Whether TNA gave the tickets away, or paid the fans to come in, the Atlanta fans blew the roof off the building. I'd recommend this PPV to anyone wanting to enjoy some great wrestling athleticism unrivaled by anything WWE is willing, or able, offer.
Mike Omansky (8.0): Best match: Sting-Angle (honerable mentions to Christian-Joe and LAX opener). Worst match: Pacman tag team title match (just beating out Monsters' Ball). Excellent show overall; best TNA pay-per-view in at least two years. Unfortunately, buyrate probably won't improve due to poor use of their TV show to promote it. Great dynamics in Angle-Sting and Joe-Christian matches - both delivered. Even the woman's match was strong and interesting, and a good move using one-minute intervals for the participants. Glad that the Pacman farce is over... match was very weak with a substitute tag champ who didn't belong there. Great to see a real crowd for once instead of the small, predictable Florida crowd, and dizzying camera angles to make us think that there are more people there. These guys can deliver a pay-per-view. Now how about a TV show that makes more people want to buy it?
Randy M of Pittsburgh, P.a (9.0): Best match: Samoa Joe vs. Christian Cage. Worst match: Fight For The Right. I thought this the best PPV of the year. Basing that judgment on in ring action, Bound For Glory was well worth my $30. I actually felt satisfied with just the Ultimate X. LAX proved why they are the best tag team in wrestling today, and Elix Skipper proved why he is the most underrated X/Cruiserweight wrestler today. Fight for the Right was a POS. It didn't help that they added the "tournament" to the ever so long stipulation list. The Tag Team Title match had great in ring action as well. Styles was way over as the hometown boy, and it bled into Tomko. I haven't seen him move that fast. Jay Lethal and Fallen Angel were given plenty of time to showcase their talents. I think they hit every finisher buy the Last Rites. The Steiners vs. Team 3D was a typical brawl, but the promo battles gave it heat. The crowd ate it up. I was a bit disappointed with the Women's Gauntlet. Maybe it was because I had already seen a battle royal. The ladies made a nice effort, and Gail is the well deserved winner. Samoa Joe and Christian put on my MOTN. The crowd was unbelievable; at one point actually shutting up the announce team. I can't describe how awesome this made the match; my words can't do it justice. I had goose bumps by the end. Joe ended Christians undefeated streak and that should give him a reason to finally stay in the title picture. The Monsters Ball was another all out brawl, with the right man winning. Kurt Angle and Sting put on a great match as well. Predictably, Karen and Kevin got involved. However, TNA went for the feel-good moment and put Sting over. Hopefully this will be a meaningful last run; unlike last year at this time.
