Rashod Harris, Norfolk, Va. (8.0): Best: Ultimate X. Worst: Tables Match. Let's start out with the negative side of it. The women's gauntlet match was exactly what it was supposed to be. It wasn't that good, but if TNA decides to keep most of these women on the actual roster, the division could be pretty decent. Highlight of the match was Awesome Kong's exit from the match (catch the replay). The Table match was okay, but they are both old and broken tag teams. Hopefully with the distraction from Sabin & Shelley, this will lead to a high-profile feud for them. Everything else on the show was positive. The X-Division title match was good, but not memorable. Ultimate X was the spotfest that everyone knew it was going to be. Hernandez is the most underutilized talent on the roster. Some of the things that he does is remarkable. The Primetime dive off the top of the Ultimate X structure was awesome. The Cage-Joe match was good. Joe just dominated the whole match. Sting-Angle was good, but with all the distractions it felt like an old WCW match. It made sense for Kevin Nash to try to help Angle win. This is a good angle, just as long as it doesn't lead to a Sting-Nash match. But after watching the PPV, if TNA can have good matches like these on free tv sometimes, then they will definitely have a faithful fan in me.
Joe Haas of Columbia, Md. (8.0): Best match: Christian vs. Samoa Joe. Worst match: Monster's Ball. Excellent pay-per-view. I hope Kristy Hemme is okay; I wasn't sure if that was just storyline or if Don West really was concerned about Hemme. That powerbomb looked beyond stiff and I wouldn't be surprised if Awesome Kong didn't last long in TNA. Who's going to want to work with her? All the matches were good; even Monster's Ball was okay for what it was - but Raven, Black Reign, and Rhino should not have been in the next to last match. That was the "popcorn" match and should have followed one of the X Division matches. Steiners vs. Dudleys delivered from a storyline standpoint at least, but I hope we soon see the last of these four and of Pacman. Rasheed Creed looked impressive; maybe he and Ron Killings can go on without Pacman. I certainly hope Shelley and Sabin are future tag champs - they are the best team I've seen since the Hollywood Blondes (Austin & Pillman). They really added to the Fight for the Right match. Eric Young going over in that match was a surprise. Talk about surprises - I never expected Sting to win the title. I didn't mind the threats of a "Dusty" finish because they were set up well by storyline. Not sure where TNA goes with Sting, but overall this was a terrific show with one good match after another. The Torch really loves to belittle TNA, and there are some valid reasons for it, but when I compare this promotion's roster to WWE's, I must say I think the Torch's criticism really needs to be targeted somewhere else. TNA is the best promotion in the North America - by a wide margin.
Dale Kulas of Grand Forks, N.D. (8.0): Best Match: Ultimate X. Worst Match: Knockout Gauntlet. This is the first TNA PPV I ordered and watched live. I was very skeptical going in based on how bad their past few were, but I am glad I ended up getting this one. Ultimate X and X Division Title matches both delivered big time with lots of intense spots to keep me on my feet throughout both matches. The mid-card surprised me a bit with Team 3D-Steiners match going above my expectations and Samoa Joe-Christian having an outstanding match as well. Thank you Awesome Kong for nearly ruining the PPV for me for that one brief second, as it took me a good few minutes to remove that unfathomable second from my mind. I wish they wouldn't have brought back the reverse battle royal, but I guess it wasn't as much of a debocle as it was last year, but it still managed to confuse me to a degree. Angle-Sting had lots of crazy interference hijinx which nearly ruined the match, but I think they still managed to deliver a pretty good effort. Overall, very good show that I would recommend to anyone.
