WWE Raw Reax #3: "If I want to see hot chicks I'll watch porn, and probably see better plot development." Oct 16, 2007 - 3:59:03 PM
A.A. Norman of Tulsa, Okla. (6.5): Best match: Santino vs. Val Venis. Worst match: Diva Search promos. The more Santino acts like a wimpy heel in the ring, the more entertained I am. I don't mind who his opponent is, just continue ordering around Maria (and just keep smiling and waving, Maria, it's funny), make fun of Austin's "The Condemned" (because we all want him to stun you) and cheat to win. Hooray, Santino. I love you more now that we're supposed to hate you than when you had the "Miracle in Milan" and such. As for the rest of the show, we don't need top tiers having three matches in a night. Don't you remember Triple H in No Mercy? It got old. So did Umaga (You-man-ga, Regal?) squishing Andy Simmons and Orton facing his three potential opponents. No more three-somes! Yawn, yawn, yawn. Regal had a good opening performance, as did Kennedy at his mic, as usual. However, "thumbs down" to Coach vs. Hornswaggle and the Diva Search. I know Horny wasn't your first option for the bastard son angle, but try not to let that show. I don't care about the Diva Search, nor do I care how they rescue inflatable dummy dolls from the ocean. At least it isn't taking up as much time as it used to on-air.
Bill Matz of Philadelphia, Pa. (1.5): Best Match: William Regal's entrance. Worst Match: The rest of the show. I haven't watched any WWE programming in the past few weeks, and I now understand how I let Raw fall off my priority list. The show was just plain boring. Randy Orton is the new champ and he came off terribly last night. He almost lost three times and none of the matches had a finish. The women's division should just be thrown away and forgotten about. I know Vince loves to show off the plastic models he employs, but if I want to see hot chicks I'll watch porn, and probably see better plot development. The tag division is showing signs of life, but it isn't being given enough of a spotlight. At least the Cody Rhodes and Bob Holly match was well-wrestled, even if Holly beating Rhodes for a third time does absolutely nothing for the show or their careers. Umaga beating up some guy three different ways does nothing, as everyone already knows he can beat jobbers; hell, he almost beat Cena for the title earlier this year. The Hornswaggle segment was nothing more than a filler, and it was stupid. I want to watch wrestling, not a runner cartoon. The only reason I gave this show a 1.5 and not a zero is because it's always good to see Shawn Michaels in the title picture, and I'm hoping this Jericho build-up pays off at some point.
Steve Feinberg of Cleveland, Ohio (3.5): Best: Orton vs. Hardy. Worst: Highlanders-London & Kennedy. This was just one poor edition of Raw tonight folks. I mean it's bad enough that you've got your best tag team jobbing to a crappy knock off the Bushwackers and a dynamic women's champ cutting short cliche filled promos instead of physically anihilating her T&A rival, but we spent several segments watching no- talent Coachman chasing a giggling goof under over and thru the arena. When BOREswaggle dropped the plunger I was praying that my TV would blow up so I wouldn't have to be subjected to anymore of this crap! The real question is not how low can WWE's product continue to sink, but who has the more extensive dossier of photos with Vince in compromising situations in their possession, The Coach or Hornswoggle?
