WWE Raw Reax #4: "It's good to see Jeff Hardy finally gets his chance to shine with a couple of main eventers." Oct 23, 2007 - 5:48:45 PM
A.A. Norman of Tulsa, Okla. (9.0) Best match: Main event. So I have a late assignment Monday night and my husband forgets to tape Raw. This is so unfair that I missed allegedly the greatest Raw in years after watching weeks of terrible Raw. Alas, when I turned on the show, Candice Michelle is being handled with care around the neck, when J.R. shows us the replay. I've seen football injuries like that and I hope she recovers soon. I was very impressed with the main event and wish I could have seen more of the show. I've been casting my Cyber Sunday votes for Mr. Kennedy (because we all know it will be HBK vs. RKO), but I wouldn't mind watching any of them in the title match. When I catch the Raw replay on Telemundo in Spanish, I will be desperately wishing USA would air a Raw rerun during the week (or even following Dr. Steve-O or something) in English. After all, not everyone can catch Raw at 8 p.m. or can tape it - or remind their husbands to tape it.
Bryant Mooney of Stamford, Conn. (9.0): Best Match: Hardy and Michaels vs. Orton and Kennedy Worst Match: Simmons vs. Marella. WWE has finally gave me a Raw to feel good about and was worth watching the entire show. The six person tag team match was a good way to start the show displaying London and Kendrick's abilities and also trying to find something for Melina. I think Cody Rhodes vs. Shelton Benjamin will work with Rhodes having supposedly gained Hardcore Holly's respect. I was very impressed with D.H. Smith last night; I think this kid has potential. Is Carlito now known just for being a jobber? They're just burying him and has no push in his future. The Triple H and Umaga brawl was a good way to add more fuel to their match Sunday, great segment in which we thought we were going to see one of the biggest mis-matches ever. The only match I thought was worthless but didn't effect the show as much was Marella vs. Simmons. As for Marella's continuation of mocking Stone Cold, I hope this all comes to head this Sunday and finally shut Santino up. Now to the most startling match of the night. I thought that the two-out-of-three falls match was actually quite good despite that the first fall happened in the first minute of the match. Good showing by Candice until that moment when she fell from the top rope. When that happened I went from excited to shocked. Candice absolutely looked dead in the corner and when Beth was dragging her to make the cover. It was really bad. I personally watched it again on tape in slow motion and it was horrible. I felt so relieved that she sat up to see that she was alright. I stood up and applaud in front of my TV. It's bad to see moments like that on live TV and I'm glad to hear that she won't be out for too long. The Diva Search segment wasn't that bad except for Brooke's 30 seconds which was horrible to say the least and had me reaching for the remote to press mute. Eve's was actually good and was worth listening to. Go Eve! The main event was a very good match. I feared that the match would be short because it started just minutes before 11 p.m. It's good to see Jeff Hardy finally gets his chance to shine with a couple of main eventers. They need somebody to break out of that mid-card shell and into the main event level and Jeff Hardy is the best one for it. I think he has paid his dues and really deserves to win the vote to face Randy Orton. The only question is that whether Jeff Hardy hang in a PPV main event match. I really want Hardy to win, but I think it will be Shawn Michaels mainly because he is the veteran and has had the most classic matches of anyone I've ever seen. I already took Kennedy out of this equation, hence past Cyber Sunday's where the face always wins the votes. After months of horrible episodes of Raw, with this one Raw has fully regained my interest.
