TNA Impact Reax #2: "One thing that needs to change is Mike Tenay's overreaction to everything." Oct 26, 2007 - 3:07:09 PM
Angel A. of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. (2.0): Best: Angle vs. Sting; Worst: Mike Tenay. I will be honest. I watched the show and I can't remember half of what happened. I watched with a friend that came over and I was embaressed to be watching the show. Why doesn't TNA realize that in order for their viewers to spread the word about the product, they can't come off as uncool? Abyss and Dustin's segment came off second rate. It felt more like a local indy show running a show with that segment. Angle-Sting was good until the end. I like the continued push of Awesome Kong. Why does Traci Brooks still hang around with Robert Roode? It's been months since they first started teasing dissention. Finally, the worst part of the show... Mike Tenay. Please... please... if you want to keep me around as a viewer and if you want the casual fans to care about the product, then one of the main things that needs to change is Mike Tenay's overreaction to everything. An announcer shouldn't be that heavily invested in a match. Why is it that out of the thousands of screwjob endings to matches Mike Tenay is ready to blow a gasket for this one? Why should he have a say in anything if he's supposed to be an announcer? Stop it... please. Enough cartoon facial reactions and calm down once in a while. Stop yelling at me. I don't want someone yelling at me telling me how exciting everything is. Let the in-ring action speak for itself sometimes.
Sam Robinson Sykesville, Md. (6.5): Best: Storm vs. Young/Fatu vs. Roode. Worst: Abyss vs. a vice. All together not a bad impact, though far from a good one. I like the build up for the "Fight for Your Right" tourney, and it's progressing nicely. Just wish the finish wasn't an obvious "let's get Cage back in the title picture" ploy. One question from last night though, and it's got nothing to do with the title situation, Kurt, Kevin, Sting or anything Don West was ranting about at the end there. Why do we need to see Abyss put in a vice? Are we really that desperate for a new sick gimmick? I know they overdo the handcuffs, but at least that doesn't seem like a horror movie. I really hope something good for the X-Division comes out of this Team 3D squashing they have been receiving week after week after week.
