TNA Bound for Glory PPV Reax #2: "That was by far the best PPV of the year, in any organization."

Matt Guerra of Bayonne N.J. (8.0): That was by far the best PPV of the year, in any organization. Even the worst match featuring WWE retread Cute Kipp came off well. Oh, what a hot crowd does for a PPV! Best match of the night was the Monsters Ball Tag Match. Worst match of the night would be the Bimbo's Brawl, though that wasn't even too bad. Jeff Jarrett looked like he didn't miss a beat, and that match with Kurt Angle added the slowed down mat style needed to this card. Kevin Nash interfering was predictable, but it was necessary for storyline purposes. Wade Keller is off with his thoughts on the ending of the PPV, maybe Nash didn't want Sting to take out Joe... maybe Nash wanted to do it himself for how Joe has treated him. Samoa Joe is a hard champion to sell to non-TNA fans, simply put... he's out of shape.

Mike Vincent of St. Catharines, Ont. (2.5): This is the first TNA show I have watched in its entirety in over six months. The booking had pushed me away from the promotion then, and it didn't take long for TNA to do the same. It's just simply mind-blowing how poorly these shows are booked. I am 100 percent positive I could write a better show after downing a 12 pack to try and forget I even wached this nonsense. The VIP Roundtable covered pretty much everything wrong. From the spotfest opener, to Abyss being set on fire, to Jarrett's newest low-life attempt at becoming a star. What I will add is just how terrible the characters are on this show. You can't take anyone seriously because everyone and everything is just so over-the-top. No one is real, so there's just no way to relate to any one wrestler, or to get behind them in any more than a passing sense. And to see, after all this time, we get Booker T, Jarrett, and Sting winning the top three matches on the biggest show of the year. TNA bookers are simply a bunch of cowards who are so terrified of creating new stars that they will forever rely on WWE names to fill the void. What that does, for anyone watching, is immediately peg TNA's wrestlers as inferior, and will forever be a bain to their existence. This is especially frustrating when guys like A.J. Styles and Samoa Joe are clearly leaps and bounds better than their WWE peers. I suppose it doesn't matter, really, because when TNA does make the attempt to push anyone new, they ultimately just book them as fools and do more damage than good. Sadly, after six years, TNA refuses to acknowledge what holds them back, and until they actually address those issues, they will never grow past their ceiling of mediocracy.

SUPER-BONUS 10/9 IMPACT REAX

Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (7.5): Best: Focus toward Bound For Glory. Worst: Complete sensory overload and poor build to Las Vegas. For two hours there was focus and purpose toward the PPV, but absolutely no room to breathe or digest the content. No less than three matches were officially booked tonight for Sunday, and that's three too many. The build may have been there toward them, but the reason and importance coming afterwards is counter-productive. And I'm sure Kip and Rhino would love to hear that they're in a Bimbo Brawl. Again, why does Christian HAVE to choose a side? Looks like Christian might have made a choice tonight... Christian's side. Steve McMichael rolled his promo over a few times just to see some screen time and really say nothing. Karen Angle leaving seems so anti-climactic now, and with that the Mick Foley interview should have been handled by Mike Tenay or Don West instead. Nice going, TNA: your DVD cover girl is gone right as the DVD is coming to retailers. I went 7-0 for No Mercy. Being that I have no idea who is even in the Steel Asylum guarantees that I won't repeat that, but it won't mean a thing anyway; just ask Kaz. Out of the seven matches that remain to predict: Creed gets his first X Division and Roxxi gets her first Knockouts win (why build them if they're losing?); Christian the Tweener wins the three-way; The Bimbo Brawl goes to the face team; Beer Money and Joe retain ("no rematch" unnecessarily guarantees win for Joe), and Sting becomes a full face again; and Angle defeats Jarrett, due to Foley outing tonight that there will be outside interference involved. As for Las Vegas, I've known for about a week or more that TNA was coming, and tickets are already on sale. Just now TNA plugs it on Impact? This is why they can't sell out shows. For the record, I'm not attending simply because I still didn't know ahead of time enough even for the advanced notice I had.
