WWE Raw Reax #2: "Someone must've got drunk before writing this show because poor judgement was shown."

Dan Patrick of Vernon Hills, Ill. - Newspaper Reporter (3.5) Best: Haas Hogan, Jericho-C.M.-Punk. Worst: Jackass living up to its name. Tonight was like a roller coaster. You had definite highs like Santino's comedy only to have crashing lows like Beth's botched slam right after it. Then there's a match between two of the top superstars in Batista and Shawn Michaels that had about as much action as a Great Khali-Cena match. I don't know if this was due to an injury or what, but I would much rather see Michaels work his magic on the stick than see him wrestle in sub-standard matches with sub-standard main eventers like Batista. Charlie Haas is definitely one reason why I tune in to Raw each week, and it was nice to see him get some much-deserved TV time. His Hogan impression was spot on (as most of his impressions are) and the match did what it was supposed to do by rekindling some heat for JBL. I usually cringe when I see any inkling of a crossover promotion with another show, and Jackass did not disappoint. Everything that was embarrassing about professional wrestling from the midgets to the "tallywacker" jokes to the worms and talentless over-the-top wrestling characters was rolled out into one huge mess of eye-rolling stupidity. And thanks to Knoxville's involvement, it'll probably end up on one of those entertainment shows so that we, as wrestling fans, will once again have to explain our chosen form of entertainment to everyone else. Vince, Knoxville's show was called "Jackass" for a reason. If you ever want pro wrestling to be taken seriously, this is not the direction you should be going. One last thing, it sure was nice to see C.M. Punk in the main event... NOW THAT HE'S DROPPED THE BELT!

Daren C. Hindman, Ky. (1.5): Best Match: Browns upsetting the Giants :) Worst Match: Take your pick. There is absolutely no logic with Raw booking anymore. A few weeks ago, we have Batista-Michaels teaming, then the next week the tension they had back in April was mentioned, even though it was forgotten when they were teaming. Now, even though Michaels as a potential ref at Cyber Sunday should mean something, it doesn't. Stone Cold as a special referee? Couldn't care less. Randy Orton, that would be awesome. Personally, I'd prefer him to be the referee, hit the RKO on Jericho and Batista, make the pin and count himself to be the winner. Talk about shock waves; that, my friend, would be a MASSIVE shock to most fans. However, WWE would never do that. Kane-Mysterio, who cares? This feud has been written so poorly that it isn't even funny. Haas Hogan was one of the two highlights of the night. I was never a Hulkamaniac, so anyone ribbing that old gimmick is appreciated. Johnny Knoxville, I pray to never see you in the WWE ring, or in the audience ever again. The segment involving him started great, as most all things with Santino are, but then it went down hill. Beth's botched Slam, seeing Hornswaggle, Boogeyman, and the Great Khali in one segment, yikes! Cryme Time is old to me, but Miz & Morrison are the best team in years from the WWE. However, the tag champs get put in "Heel Lumberjack Hell?" Lastly, who did C.M. Punk tick off in management? To have to have the odds stacked that much in his favor, and to have to take a win from Batista's help yet again, good grief. It's sad that I missed an opportunity to watch the Giants get a reality check just to watch this garbage.

Mike Carrier of Anchorage, Alaska (4.5): Best Match: Michaels vs. Batista       Worst: The whole jackass thing. I am personally liking how they continue to carry on the Michaels-Batista feud, even though there are several subplots going on at the same time. This allows people to continue to invest their emotions into a long term feud, while building interest on the developing ones. Good long term planning by the booking team on that front. The Michaels-Batista match was a good one, no doubt, and Batista is looking much better out there, but the one thing he will need to do is GET RID of the weak looking shoulderblocks in the corner. They don't look good, and are not believable moves. But the thing that really got me was the jackass CRAP. Last I heard, this was supposed to be a PG show. Why would I want my nine year old son going to that stupid website? Why would I want him even seeing this garbage with Johnny I'm a bozo Knoxville. I was embarrassed to see he was on and constantly had my finger on the remote control. Then B.D. Johnson comes out?! What the heck? A PG Show? My foot! Somebody needs to be consistent here. No brand separation any more, PG 14 crap on a TV PG show, someone must've got drunk before writing this show because poor judgement was shown, even despite the opportunity to make money through promoting the jack** character.
