Shane Bennett of Frankfort, KY (6.0) Best Match: Tag Team Match. Worst Match: Gauntlet Match. Jericho is always solid on the mic and his great character has carried well away from Shawn Michaels. He is helping this blah feud with Batista and he has so much heat from the crowd that he could let Priceless borrow some. I got an uneasy feeling about the gauntlet match as soon as Adamle blandly announced it. It could have been a lot of fun, but I think Adamle's job is to protect his champion, not harm it. There is no storyline in place that forces Adamle to punish Jericho weekly (like Austin-McMahon). What if Batista or Jericho were injured before the match? This to me is illogical and lazy booking. Oh, Michael Cole, your fake laughs make me so mad that if I meet you I will punch you in your stupid face. At least you don't say "swashbuckling" anymore. Unless Haas starts winning with his gimmick, I don't see what he gets out of it. Why would anyone relish being beaten up every single week? The gimmicks don't give him a psychological edge. They don't give him a physical edge. They don't give him characterization. They serve no purpose except a cheap pop at the expense of the real talent that made the character in question profitable. Snitsky doesn't deserve a contract. I can't believe they fired Lance Cade and kept this idiot. I do like the way they built up Rey Mysterio. His in-ring style is extremely unique and should be a marquee attraction for the product. I know it is taboo to take champs backwards but I think he could really have a great run as IC champ. And speaking of IC champ…Santino is so funny. His comedic timing and delivery is unmatched on wrestling television. (I'm talking to you Brother Ray.) I liked that he stopped being funny and showed a vicious side with the guitar. The crowd needs to see more of that. He can be funny, but with the IC title he needs to be a threat. Kurt Angle was really funny with his dorky character but no one ever questioned his ring skills. A wrestler can be both.
The John Cena videos make financial sense. Those of us "smart fans" look to be let down again that they are bringing back "Super Cena" but the WWE has invested a lot in the Cena franchise. They make me feel better about the "guy" John Cena, but I am sure that feeling will wear off as soon as he returns. I do love the budding tag division. Kofi and Punk work well together and Miz/Morrison continue to be the most underrated tag team in the world. Every one of their matches is PPV quality. I think in order to solidify the tag division Cryme Tyme and Team "No Heat" should have come out and confronted each group since all have interwoven storylines. Couldn't Team Priceless put a beat down on Punk and Kingston after the match instead of on Cryme Tyme? Doesn't Cryme Tyme still have beef with Miz and JoMo? Instead the tag match comes off as pay-per-view quality and Team Priceless does a beat down with less heat than Snitsky. Yikes. As I figured, the gauntlet made no sense. Once one of the three challengers is hurt, all Jericho or Batista has to do is pin them to get the win. No skill. No intrigue. This being the "go home show," I suppose the point is to bury Regal, Henry, and Kane (all of whom can't afford it) at the hands of a clunky challenger who won't win on Sunday. No point. No point. Prestige needs to be restored on Raw. They shouldn't book the champion and challenger for the heavyweight title in any match a week before the PPV, unless a strong storyline supports it.
Matt Guerra of Bayonne NJ: (2.0) The only reason this show got two points is because Candice "I got skinnied up by the WWE" Michelle wore an outfit similar to Starman from the old Nintendo wrestling video game. People want to get on TNA for their unclear rules, but that main event made no sense and when I figured it out I didn't care. But that sums up the show: they gave you a good lengthy tag match of Miz/Morrison vs. Punk/Kofi, but other than that, this show had nothing to give you any reason to watch Cyber Sunday. Enough of Mike Adamle.
Terrie Neilson, Las Vegas, NV (3.0) Best: Jericho-Batista promo; Santino promo. Worst: gauntlet match; PPV build. This was somewhat decent Raw, but a very poor go-home show. The show was focused in terms of attention toward Cyber Sunday, but nowhere close to substance. The opening divas tag was filler to get in a few words about the Halloween contest. Rey's win against Snitsky was considered a big deal, but when has Snitsky won lately? And there was no post-match run-in or some other angle to make the Kane-Rey match seem important. There was a Mike Knox video. Nicely-produced video that it was, it's a video for an ECW superstar who has no stake at all in Cyber Sunday (or does he?) The Miz/Morrison-Punk/Kofi and Cryme Tyme-Priceless tag matches were more filler intended for Cyber Sunday, but the matches were pretty bad. It's also too little too late to be get heat on Priceless by ambushing Cryme Tyme causing no match to happen. This should have happened weeks ago. Even Santino Marella wasn't safe from this disaster. I was highly entertained by his exchange with Duggan (standing in for himself more than Santino's three PPV opponents), and then he was cut something fierce by flying guitar debris when he "El Kabonged" Duggan. The opening segment between Jericho and Batista was fine; the main event gauntlet match was an utter waste. Whatever it was meant to do (I assume an advantage to Batista), it failed miserably at. And the big deal vote for the title match was for the referee. Shawn Michaels wasn't there to give any final statement and neither was Randy Orton. It's clear the push is for Austin to be voted, but when was he on TV again? Oh yeah, that's right, in tonight's segment under the guise of "Haastin", but it's been more than a year since last the real Austin graced WWE TV. Why should I care about Austin here? He's making a movie that is about to start production (not one that's done), and he clearly won't be in a match with Jericho or anyone else down the road. I guess the only good thing about the JBL-"Haastin" match was it finally establishes a feud for Charlie Haas. However, we still don't know why Charlie is resorting to this gimmick. And why is he picking on JBL with it, since they've now faced each other in at least three segments or matches with this gimmick in play? WWE has been able to pull off decent PPVs despite weak build, but this Raw has pretty much written off their portion of Cyber Sunday.

PWTORCH FORMAT CONVENTIONS
For the sake of clarity to our readers (and to save us time editing these same things over and over), please follow these simple conventions when writing Torch Reax:
-Wrestlers teaming together should be connected with "&" symbol (e.g. Hunter & Michaels, Devon & Ray) or with a "/" (e.g. Animal/Hawk, Harris/Storm), but not dashes and not the word "and."
-To designate wrestlers who are fighting, feuding, or wrestling each other, put a dash (-) between them (e.g. Michaels-McMahon, Jarrett-Sting, Hogan-Andre) or use "vs."
-The word versus should always be abbreviated this way: "vs." with a period afterward (not "v." or "v/s" or "VS" or "VS." or any other way).
-Plus, it's just our policy, but we don't indulge wresting promotions' strange spelling fetishes where they spell Raw, Smackdown, Heat, Impact, etc. with the haphazard capitalization of various leTTeRz. It seems very "junior high," so no RAW (it's Raw), no iMPACT (it's Impact), etc.
-Please try to avoid overuse of dot-dot-dots. If you have a thought that's "trailing off," you can use for effect, but otherwise, just use periods, commas, and our personal favorite, semicolons if you dare. We have always had a policy of only one exclamation point and no ALL CAPS. Let your words convey the meaning of your point. There's many to choose from out there.
