Bryson of Nashville, Tenn. (7.0): Best: Undertaker vs Triple H. Worst: Michelle McCool/Maria bad acting segment. Decent show. Wasn't really into it... I was laughing my head off when MVP got beat by Funaki in the matter that he did. I love Maryse's improvement overall. The Khali chant was something I was waiting to hear for a while now. The Bella story moved again to a small degree with the questionable behavior after a first nice encounter with Primo and Brie. Good main event that I thought was going to be cut short, but actually got the usual Smackdown time allotted to featured matches.
Dan Strauss of Goodhue, Minn.: The main event match itself was very good. For all the bumps, bruises, surgeries, and years Undertaker has put in, he is still one of the best workers in WWE. He and Triple H put on a great, long match. I'm not sure if I was feeling nostalgic or what, but the main event to me seemed like the good ol' days, where two top stars would put on a great, long TV match that made watching it completely worthwhile. I've read positive and negative feedback regarding Big Show's run-in, and I really wasn't happy with it. I understand heading into Sunday that they needed to establish more, but run-ins most likely now outnumber clean finishes. That's what happens in a scripted business where wins and losses really don't mean anything unless you hold a belt. All the cheap run-ins and interferences have totally devalued an old-fashioned three-count victory. As far as Koslov beating the crap out of Triple H, again, I'm sure it sets up Sunday, but the way they're showcasing Koslov, did he really need to beat up an already-beat up Triple H? I'm not sure that made Koslov look any better.
Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (7.0): Best: Triple H vs. Undertaker (minus Show finish). Worst: Michelle-Maria post-match promo. Yep, I'm convinced. Cyber Sunday is a throwaway PPV. Tonight's show was pretty fun, but the focus on Sunday was much looser than the bad Raw on Monday. Triple H's opening segment was loaded with sweetness, and every time they went to a crowd shot, the crowd made a liar of WWE. And Jeff is further buried, or at least made to merge with the scenery by his short appearance at the beginning and no save in the end. I'm guessing they're using Maria's thing with Festus as the "drama" of her title match with Michelle. This segment was very poorly done, but one could draw Michelle's character as focused on and serious about her career and wrestling. This is much less heelish than how Michelle interracted with Maria last week. I feel bad for Natalya. All this stuff about family pedigree and she's practically furniture too. What was the point of bringing her in, then? We had all but a Brie-Nicole reveal by way of the Colons. Feeling the reveal's coming too late at this point as I thought last week would have been much better. This business with Chavo and Bam is also too late in coming, and the match with Carlito/Primo seemed so random. A Crazy-Kendrick feud could be cool, but why they are even paired up is beyond me. I'm liking Funaki's new gimmick. It got off to a really cheesy start, but he's being serious about it this week, and it seems to work for him. That said, it took away from what could have been build for Shelton Benjamin's match at Cyber Sunday. Someone please tell me why Festus was on the ballot? Triple H-Undertaker was a case of "Now And Later": savor some for now, because more is coming later. The first chapter was a slow, deliberate match. A tad too slow for a main event, but they were trying not to give away too much.for a future encounter. Still may have given too much away, though, as the match went longer than I would have expected before Show's appearance. Show's beatdown of Taker was just a beatdown and not laser-focused final sell for Cyber Sunday. Why not suggest a match, since every other vote is being suggested, so to speak?
