2/15 WWE No Way Out PPV Reax
Jason Hadden of Owensboro, Ky. (8.0): Best Match: Smackdown Elimination Chamber. Worst Match: None. This was a great show that was only hurt by some illogical booking (Edge putting himself in the Raw chamber match) and a fevered ego (Shane destroying Cody and getting the best of Orton thru most of their match). With the risk-taking and hard work everyone put on tonight, you would think it was WrestleMania. I have mixed emotions on this show, though. I thought it was exciting and well worth the PPV purchase, but the bumps most of the wrestlers took were just too dangerous, especially in the Smackdown chamber match. Every time a
wrestler smacked that steel floor, I cringed. If you love brutality and don't give a damn about the wrestlers being hurt, then this PPV is for you. I couldn't believe Hardy got up after Triple H carelessly dropped him on the steel floor of the chamber the way he did. And Orton has a nice scar courtesy of Shane's legit monitor shot to the head. I say this facetiously, but if Shane is going to destroy Ted on Raw and Cody on this PPV, why not just have him destroy Triple H and Edge too and become Undisputed Champion, because he's obviously one of the baddest men on the roster. Shawn's wife should've worn something besides a designer top by Bebe tonight to help sell the idea that Shawn's broke. I guess with Edge now the Raw champion, he'll go back to Smackdown and Triple H will be traded to Raw tomorrow so Raw can have a champion. Tonight's on-the-fly booking just created more questions than answers concerning WrestleMania's line-up. Still, a great action packed PPV from start to finish.
Adam Riemer (9.0): Best: Every match but the ECW Championship. Worst: The ECW Championship Match. Wow, that is all I have to say. Seriously, was there a new writing staff that just got employed by the WWE? Did they wake up and realize their product needed some crazy change? I did not expect such a great, surprising PPV for technically the number one filler PPV in between the two biggest shows the WWE puts on. How can you pick the best match? The Smackdown Elimination Chamber started off the most unpredictable PPV in the last ten years, and boy was it good. I was actually fine with Triple H winning, I mean, how could you not be? The fact that they pulled the biggest surprises in one night was amazing and very uncharacteristic of the WWE. Randy winning was right, and Shane does take the best bumps. I don't really get why Shane was that hurt from a RKO, but it was still a fun match. I was surprised that D.H. Smith didn't interfere and join Legacy and I was very happy that Steph didn't turn on Shane, only because I am sick of McMahon vs. McMahon. HBK vs. JBL was a decent match, and him winning seems right. The fact that his wife Rebecca interfered might cause JBL to push a few issues and come up with a reason to fight at WrestleMania. The ECW match stunk. I totally agree with Striker when he said he was sick of Hornswoggle. It was a match that everyone knew the outcome of even if Christian didn't debut and challenge Swagger. I was upset Christian didn't show, but they are really pushing everyone to tune into ECW so it makes sense. The Raw main event was great. Edge coming in was a great surprise, but the bigger surprise was Cena actually losing. Lord knows that all this means is that Cena will probably win the title at 'Mania, but still! I thought at least three times that Rey was going to win the title. Edge winning was great, and it truly makes me want to tune into Raw tomorrow night. Well done WWE, well done, now I can only hope that WrestleMania can actually be better...than No Way Out.
