No Way Out PPV Reax #3: "This PPV was solid and suspenseful, but we'll have to see how they follow up on Raw"

2/15 WWE No Way Out PPV Reax

Joseph Lawson of Las Vegas, Nev. (8.5): Best Match: Edge wins Raw EC. Worst Match: ECW championship. I was desperately hoping this PPV would deliver and it did! The Smackdown chamber match had me on the edge (no pun intended) and every competitor delivered (with the exception of Kozlov). I was surprised to see Edge eliminated so early but it provided an amazing finish with Taker and Triple H. Glad to see Hunter with the gold. I was pleased with the SuperShane match, as Orton really delivered. It actually delivered up to expectations of a great match overall and it ended appropriately. The ECW Title match was boring as to be expected. Swagger and Finlay have a lot to offer, but following a chamber match and the no holds barred match, it didn't stand a chance. It would have been better if there was interference from Christian. I am extremely glad the Michaels-JBL angle ended like it did. Or did it? My favorite part of this PPV was Edge stealing his way into Raw's EC. Classic, typical edge. Cena's elimination rocked the crowd and Rey Mysterio really sold this chamber with Edge. I think Mike Knox surprisingly did well tonight and showed in the future he may be a main eventer. I will definitely be buying this on DVD, as it was overall flat amazing!

Leonard Tripodi of Kenilworth, N.J. (8.0): Best: Raw Elimination Chamber. Worst: Swagger vs. Finlay. I think the worst match selection will be unanimous by all. It wasn't given much of a chance in its positioning on the card and Finlay wasn't the best choice of an opponent for a young upstart like Swagger. Christian was the popular choice as the crowd was chanting for him throughout the match. I think Hornswoggle has finally worn out his welcome. The Raw Chamber was awesome from start to finish. The shocker of the night was Cena getting upended by the finishers of the remaining three guys, including Edge's spear. I also liked the Smackdown Chamber match, but it dragged all the way through until it came down to Taker-Triple H. It would have been equal to the Raw Chamber if not for the two lumbering big men, Kozlov and Big Show. I'm not overly impressed with Kozlov, but he's good in small doses, as opposed to a match like this where he can be exposed from working with more experienced talent over a longer period of time. Taker was solid, as was Triple H, who went over in dramatic fashion. I love how they let both Hardy and Rey almost go the distance. Michaels-JBL was fine for a storyline driven grudge match, and having Rebecca there added some intrigue and emotion. They can have JBL complain about her slugging him, which should have resulted in a DQ, but I hope they move forward with Michaels into a high profile match at Mania. Orton-Shane was about what I expected, so it didn't disappoint, nor overwhelm. We will continue to hear about how SuperShane raises the bar and shouldn't go over the talent like he did with DiBiase and Rhodes. But it's expected, and as long as he loses in these high profile matches against the top heel in the company, I'm actually fine with it. But like Caldwell mentioned, he only does this about once a year, and it does hurt the lesser talent who have to perform several times a week and cannot take those bumps or amount of punishment to their bodies on a regular basis. This PPV was solid and suspenseful at times, but we'll have to see how they follow up with it on Raw.
