WWE Raw Reax #1: "Jack Swagger proved he can handle himself against a major star..."

4/13 WWE Raw Reax

Christi Lott of Dallas, Tex. (7.0): Best Match: Swagger-Cena. Worst Match: Divas Tag. Most of these Draft picks weren't surprising to me as they were rumors on the Internet since Thursday or Friday. The only match to really write about is Swagger and Cena. Swagger proved he can handle himself against a major star and he looked very good in the match. Cena did a nice job of building him and putting him over a bit. The two women's titles moving were a good idea. It gives Melina a chance to turn back to a heel and Maryse and all her hotness can be on Raw. Punk and Jericho to Smackdown are also good ideas and they both can put on good matches not only with each other, but with Jeff Hardy, Benjamin, Mysterio, etc. ECW got robbed with only one pick, but at least they didn't get jacked like last year by not losing anyone. The move for Kozlov should be better for him so he can regroup with newer stars. The main even was uninteresting and pointless. I'd have rather seen the show end with the battle royal like last year.

Joseph Lawson of Las Vegas, Nev. (8.0): I must say at first that this week's Raw Draft was the fresh start WWE needed. A decent shuffle of superstars going to different brands. And, for the first time in I don't know how long, we saw a lot of good solid wrestling matches. Jericho vs. Dreamer was good for what it was. And I was thoroughly impressed with what Christian and Shelton Benjamin brought to the table. But I have to disagree with Caldwell. Kofi Kingston and The Miz put on a great show. Sure, there some spotty moves, but they got the fans excited and there were a lot of nearfalls. As far as the picks go, Jericho going to Smackdown was probably the best move for the brand. The switch opens up so many storylines with Edge. Kozlov going to ECW was the only sane move they could have made for him. I'll await the supplemental draft to see if they do something with Christian, but that seems unlikely, as they are promoting him for the ECW Championship push. For the first time in a while, I found myself cheering for John Cena in a match. It's too bad Jack Swagger can't start a program with Cena. We are now forced another Triple H power trip with him back on Raw. The show seemed so promising until the last segment. Batista, Trips, and Shane-o all want a piece of Orton. I get Batista and Trips going to blows and interfering to get the first piece of Orton, but Shane? Really? During the match, Legacy over-sold his masculinity, Batista was thrown out of the ring, and, of course, SuperTrips won. Now we get to see Orton vs. Trips for the umpteenth time. There was a time I was a huge Triple H fan and loved to see him in these great matches because the stories were fresh. Now, it seems he's shoved down our throats more than John Cena.
