WWE Raw Reax #2: "I expected a corny, over-the-top retaliation reaction to the Nuggets, and Vince didn't let me down"

5/25 WWE Raw TV Reax

Goiter Kalnoky, 3rd wave poet of Keasbey, N.J. (2.0). Best: U.S. Title contenders match. Worst: Opening segment. I expected a corny, over-the-top retaliation reaction to the Nuggets, and Vince didn't let me down. It was every bit as painful to watch as I expected. The highlight of the Divas match was Cole's botched announcing, repeatedly referring to the champ as "Maurice." The U.S. Title's #1 contender's match was decent. These three usually don't disappoint in the ring, and when you combine Kofi's awesome athleticism, Regal's bruising style, and Hardy's presence, you just knew this match would be good. I didn't predict Kofi getting the win (honestly I thought we'd see Regal get the title shot, but I am glad Kofi did). Actually, because of their contrasting styles, a Regal vs. Kofi feud would be massive somewhere down the line. Flair-Orton-Batista-Kennedy segment was just "m'eh." Is it wrong that I agree everything Orton said? I love Flair, but he seems to be trying too hard, and honestly it's a little too much. Great to see Kennedy back, by the way. Chavo/Beth vs. Santino/Mickie was not memorable. Did anyone catch Santino copping an extra feel of Mickie during their pre-match hugs? Nice. TBK/Festus vs. Goldust/Hornswoggle was laughable. I like this storyline, but it HAS to get out of first gear, and soon, because it is getting tired REALLY fast. I mean, is there anyone on the planet that thinks TBK can challenge the Colons with Festus... or Goldust? Come on already. The main event was okay for what it was, but I am not a fan of the tag match once is involves more than four participants. And why the extended beat down of Kennedy? Doesn't make sense to me, but the again, WWE rarely does.

A.A. Norman of Tulsa, Okla. (7.0) Best: Opening skit. Worst: Goldust and Hornswoggle. My husband and I are huge basketball fans, but our teams are out of the playoffs, so we were watching Raw's take on the Nuggets-Lakers debacle with glee. I wish WWE did more things like this, where they make fun of the city-they're-currently-in with the heels and have the faces get the crowds into the show. But, I can completely understand how wrestling fans who don't follow basketball as much would not really care for that "Enos" stuff. I hear they have heels in their hometowns give video presentations before shows on why the fans shouldn't cheer for them - why can't they come out and insult their hometown in front of the rest of us, too? I really didn't care for much of the rest of the show, other than the opening segment and then the other opening segment too (the Memorial Day tribute and the "Enos" stuff). This show was fine to give the writers a holiday and a week off, but they really, really need some sort of direction and fast.
