WWE Smackdown Reax #1: "The re-match between Jericho and Rey Mysterio was great, but Rey should move onto Dolph Ziggler"

-- 7/10 WWE Smackdown Reax

Hank Schaller, Torch VIP member of Muskegon, Mich. (5.5): This episode would have been much better if some of the earlier matches weren't so lame. The re-match between Jericho and Rey Mysterio was great, but maybe Rey should move onto Dolph Ziggler for a while. You can get too much of a good thing.

Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (8.0): Best: Dolph vs. Morrison; Jericho vs. Mysterio. Worst: Punk vs. Khali. This is the kind of show that TNA should have. There was a fair amount of activity going on, but not so much happening there is overload. Cryme Tyme got their "Word" in edgewise, and then go 1-1 for their trouble. Jesse's character continues to amuse me, but he needs to get back to the ring soon. I can almost see Jesse somehow become Cryme Tyme's manager, or maybe Eve with Jesse as a Freebird third. I'm also surprised that Bert and Ernie didn't get mentioned, but then again it's PG. Dolph Ziggler is in a nice place right now: a good match with Morrison and a potentially good one with Rey Mysterio. Thank goodness! His relationship with Maria is intriguing; time to confront Maria about the relationship to forward the story along. The Melina-Michelle brawl seems to be leading to a Falls Count Anywhere match for Night Of Champions. I can live with that as it could be a fun match. Not quite sure what the "Pretty Ricky" skit was meant to put over, but it was amusing. It was a no-brainer that the Jericho-Mysterio match was going to be good. Edge and Jericho feeding Rey to Dolph Ziggler could be a temporary torch pass with Edge gone. This wasn't one of Jeff's better outings, but then for some reason it wasn't designed to be. He did a nice promo at the top of the show to confront Punk over the fake eye injury issue. Then he goes MIA when he's on commentary. Neither he nor Punk were seen or heard from with the Kane-Khali staredown. I thought the World Title meant more; I suppose not. Punk's character didn't rub me wrong this time. Straight Edge as a lifestyle can be taken positive or negative. In this negative form, Punk is holier-than-thou and self-righteous. To a degree, Ricky Ortiz is of a similar mold with his "Rally Up." Lose the whiny entitled parts of his character currently showing and I will definitely like this heel version.
