WWE Raw Reax #1: "After the Diva Search and Million Dollar Giveaway junk over the years, this honorary GM thing has actually turned out to be quite entertaining"

-- 7/13 WWE Raw Reax

Hank Schaller, Torch VIP member of Muskegon, Mich. (4.0): I like Seth Green, but this episode left a lot to be desired with most of the matches disappointing. Chris Jericho saying that he would name his replacement for Edge at the pay-per-view was interesting and the build-up of Mark Henry was well done, but how many times does he have to be built up as a legitimate contender. 30 times now? The main event was okay, but I wished they would have stressed the tension between the members of Legacy more. Hopefully, the addition of ZZ Top and better matches will take place next Monday. A bikini match is kid-friendly? Sorry, the McMahon's idea of being kid-friendly beats me. But I'm no kid and all the divas were so fine.

Benjamin Sheffield of Atlanta, Ga. (6.5): Best Match: six-man tag finale. Worst Match: Chavo vs. Hornswoggle Caldwell, m'boy, you were a little too cynical in your commentary. :) The show wasn't that bad. It felt like a transition show to me tonight, with the continued establishment of a few things (Henry as a face, Carlito's turn, Big Show as a bully, further dissension in Legacy, etc.). It certainly didn't have a four-star match on the card, but aside from putting MVP and Swagger in the ring so quickly, I don't really have an issue with anything that happened tonight. I like the Jericho character development -- that guy is solid week in, week out -- and the Seth Green dynamic, in my opinion, actually turned out to be a pleasant surprise. After the Diva Search and Million Dollar Giveaway junk over the years, this honorary General Manager thing has actually turned out to be quite entertaining to me so far, and Green made me laugh a couple times tonight. The main event was fun, with Green basically learning on the fly how to throw a punch (on Rhodes), and the mere visual of the size difference between himself and a bunch of the guys was a surprise. I'll be honest, I was concerned going into the match that they were going to have him pin Orton. When that didn't happen, I was fine with everything regarding the match. The fans were hot tonight, too, popping for Seth in all his segments in the ring and even going nuts for Cena during his entrance. I walked away from this feeling like it wasn't the greatest Raw I've seen, but certainly not the worst, either. A serviceable episode, in my opinion.
