WWE Raw Reax #3: "Turn HBK heel with Jericho...that could set up feuds not seen in years, if ever before"

-- 7/13 WWE Raw Reax

Adam J. Grammas of Westchester, Ill. (5.0): Best: Jericho. Worst: Hornswoggle. My only real comment is on the Edge-Jericho situation. I had predicted a while back that the ONLY person capable of turning Edge heel these days would be Jericho, who, in his current character is probably more hated than Edge. And it looks like that is certainly the way they are going with Jericho talking crap about him last night. (It was almost as if they were counting on an injury to Edge so they could execute this angle.) Someone else suggested that Jericho's mystery partner could be HBK. I like that idea a lot. You turn Edge, who's been heel forever into a face, and turn HBK, who's been a face forever (save for when they needed him to play heel briefly against Hulk Hogan) into a heel. That could set up more possible feuds not seen in years, if ever before.

Lee Beatty of St. Louis, Mo. (5.0): Best: Miz vs. Primo. Worst: How about a 2.0 for Seth Green. Years ago, they did a promo for (then) WWWF with Andre The Giant standing on a box next to Vince McMahon making Andre look ...like a giant (no pun intended). That's what came to mind when I saw Seth Green in the ring next to Triple H. He is a rather diminutive young man, isn’t he? The show? I am disappointed that (it appears) Miz and Cena are not still involved anymore. That feud had so much potential, until they buried Miz in two squashes. Too bad, also, because I actually wanted to see Miz do something to win the (icy cold) heart of Maryse. The woman's tag match almost put me to sleep. It was so predictable and the wrestling was really bad, even from the usually reliable Gail Kim. Carlito vs. Primo? Now where did I just see brother vs. brother? Oh yeah, it was Hardy vs. Hardy just a few weeks ago. More of the same, Latino style? I am actually liking Mark Henry as a "face," but I hope he maintains his dominating persona. The last time he was a face, he and Mae Young popped out a mulatto baby on national TV. Oh, how far wrestling has fallen! MVP vs. Swagger is shaping up to be interesting, although (as quiet as it has been kept) MVP is on another losing streak. And now, the main event! Orton, Rhodes, DiBiase vs. Cena, Hunter, and Green. Let's take a wild guess at how this one will end. You know what bothers me the most? There is a full roster of great talent in the WWE. Are there no other players that the powers that be will showcase? Must it be a variation of the same match every single week? Where is the drama? When you see Triple H, Cena, or Orton opening up a show each week, you know exactly who their opponents will be. And if you can count to three, you can predict who will win. I, for one, am looking forward to the day that the present talent moves aside and allows Swagger, Ziggler, MVP, Miz, Mysterio, Bourne, Kingston, and some of the other young, exciting talent to take the helm. One day, I hope, one day real soon.
