Paul G. of Manchester, U.K.: Haven't watched WWE programming for a couple of months. Was last night's Raw a repeat from March/April?

Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (5.0): Best: Swagger-Orton promo. Worst: lots of burials. Now we know what Chris Jericho chose Big Show for his tag partner: so he can be Shaq's bitch. Even my markish friend watching with me came to that same conclusion. And so became "Christina." Thankfully, that didn't catch on nearly as much as I thought it would. Is WWE taking applications for Creative? Seriously. About the only surprising thing that happened was Triple H not getting the title shot. Cena getting it was more "meh" for the seemingly nightlong dead crowd. The Beat The Clock concept worked the very first time on Smackdown when everything about it was random. It gave us a pretty sweet London vs. Kendrick match. There was barely anything random about this one. The Henry-Carlito match was the without a doubt the worst match to set the clock with. Henry couldn't easily squash Jericho and Rhodes, so why would Carlito be any easier? And the match had all the makings of making things up to pass the time before finally setting the time. It's been a while since Beth was in the ring so it didn't surprise me that she botched a press slam. And already Mickie looks to be turning heel? Huh? And it was awkward for Lawler to be calling play-by-play. A legendary wrestler who seems to be in a feud with another wrestler can't call moves? And Cole needs to stop trying to be cool. It does not fit his character one bit. Masters has returned, lighter than the 265 he's billed, but back in the gimmick that barely allows him to show what he's learned while he was gone. And MVP has to go down for this. Kendrick is buried deep moments later when not allowed to air his grievances over Lawler. Hunter-Rhodes was allowed to play out the drama of the clock. Had the ridiculous Hornswoggle-Chavo match been mercifully left off the card, Swagger-Bourne and Cena-Miz could have really milked the time concept toward the eventual end. It almost looked like the Jericho/Show vs. Cryme Tyme match wasn't going to happen. After seeing it, I wish it hadn't made it either. No one had a chance to shine, and that's pretty sad.
