-- 7/27 WWE Raw Reax

A.A. Norman of Tulsa, Okla. Best: Shaq as guest host. Worst: Cena or Triple H will be once again challenging for or holding the top title at the PPV. With Donald Trump's recent involvement, you'd think that they'd take that whole 'Apprentice' thing a little farther and give guys who have never competed for the top title a chance at it, but no, we are going to once again see either Cena or Triple H fight for or defend the top title at the PPV for what seems like the 500th month in a row. The show's staying point continues to be the mid-card and in this case, a very enthusiastic guest host. A hot crowd in D.C. definitely helped too.

Goiter Kalnoky, Third-wave poet, of Keasbey, N.J. (2.5): Best: Bourne vs. Swagger. Worst: everything else. I didn't think it was possible, but here is a Raw even less interesting than last week. The bright spots were that Shaq was probably the best guest host thus far, but that's not saying a heck of a lot when the bar was set so low by ZZ Top and Seth Green that it was practically underground. When I heard Shaq announce the Beat the Clock contestants I cringed knowing it would either be Hunter or Cena again vs. Orton at Summerslam. Henry vs. Carlito was a decent match and Carlito looked good against the big man. I wish Creative would give him a good storyline or put him in Legacy already. The Divas match was okay for what it was; to me these women have the same match every week. I may be alone on this one, but Alicia Fox is the only one that can take bumps. She is only one in the whole division that can make the other Divas actually look good in the ring. Wait a second, Chris Masters returns! Stop the presses. They bring this clown back and let Mr. Kennedy go? Uhhh, yeah, that makes sense (sarcastic). Kofi over TBK was a waste of time. I mean they invest nothing into Kofi anyway, and then continue to bury Kendrick ... to get The King over? To me, when Triple H failed to "beat the clock" due to DiBiase's interference, it meant two things. (1) Cena vs. Orton at Summerslam (yawn) and (2) HBK will return at Summerslam to team with Triple H and it will be DX vs. Legacy (double yawn). Next up was Horny vs. Chavo. I will be honest here: I fell asleep at this point and missed the rest of the show. Congrats Horny and Chavo for putting me to sleep two weeks in a row! In reading Caldwell's report for the rest of the show, I have to say that a Swagger vs. Bourne feud would be massive if they invest time into it and build it right. Cena vs. Miz was both predictable that Cena would win, and regretful that they buried the Miz even more. Sad, but this guy could be SO good and they don't give him a better chance than this? Jericho/Show vs. Cryme Tyme makes me wonder where they are going with the tag division. Is the intent just to give Jericho something to do and a reason to appear on every show at the expense of young talent? Sadly, the answer is probably yes.
