-- 7/28 ECW TV Reax

Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (10.0): Best: Christian vs. Ryder; hot crowd. Worst: Sheamus vs. Goldust. Minus the main event, the show was on course with a seven. Reks saved himself from a major heckling by saving the springboard dropkick. He showed good balance, which unintentionally fit the story Striker told earlier about his surfer lifestyle. Kozlov gets a quick squash to continue playing out the "Battle of the Finishers" storyline. I'm still rooting for Kozlov. Goldust-Sheamus was better than I expected, but the young Celtic Warrior still has a long way to go. On top of that, his finisher isn't all that removed from Kozlov and Jackson. So Shelton Benjamin is "not entertaining." I'd rather hear him do a promo than watch another installment of "The Abraham Washington Show." For once they showed the dethroned champion conversing with the GM about their rematch with cameras rolling to make it seem like an important matter. Unlike Shelton's threat/promise to do something "entertaining," Dreamer followed up his re-match request to plug next week's title match. Christian vs. Ryder...how do I love thee? It would take too long to count the ways. Ryder is to ECW what Ziggler is to Smackdown: right on THE verge of a breaking the glass ceiling. Ziggler had to contend with being sandwiched between the two World Title matches at the PPV and couldn't go full-out. Ryder's only enemy was the clock on the wall, and there was more than enough time to show what he's capable of. He lost here only because Christian needed to look strong for next week. The hot crowd was all over this match (wish this crowd was with Raw last night) to elevate the match more than it elevated itself. Striker declared that he's become a fan of Zack Ryder. Dude, I'm already there.

-- 7/27 WWE Raw Reax

Sergio H. of Phoenix, Ariz., school teacher (4.0): Best Match: Swagger vs. Bourne. Worst "Match:" Chavo vs. Horny. Raw better figure things out and fast. What made the original ECW the best show of its time? 10-15 minute matches with believable nearfalls, fresh moves, and psychology with relatively clean finishes. All Raw has to do is go back to that basic formula to improve its struggling booking. MVP comes to Raw and is going to be a fresh challenge to Orton? No, he can't handle Chris Masters. Mark Henry arrives from ECW to be a new dominant face to crush RKOily? No, he's making Jericho look painfully weak by ripping off his suit. Some rays of light include a feud overdue from the new ECW - Swagger vs. Bourne - and Masters will give MVP something to do. Some slaps to the face include Chavo-Horny (anyone who is sane changed the channel) and TBK and Kingston not being able to let loose with an X Division style match-up. Cena-Orton at Summerslam? Let's hope for a swerve since the same guys in the same matches are getting old. I'm talking "I'm about to 'cross the line' old." Next week needs Piven as heel to have any life since I guarantee that 99 percent of the audience doesn't know or care who he is.

Rex Lint, Torch reader: Shaq was a great guest host, but this has got to stop. For those who think it will be Triple H and Shawn Michaels vs. Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes at Summerslam, I have my doubts. I think Legacy will join Hunter and turn on Orton. That's how these guys think. But if it is Hunter and HBK vs. Ted and Cody, I don't think it will create more buys for the PPV.
