Thursday Night TV Reax #1: "Orton seemed to milk the time in his match with Primo since he gets so little quality time on Raw"

-- 7/30 WWE Superstars TV Reax

Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (9.0): Best: Morrison vs. Kidd. Worst: filler segments. Superstars almost made it two-for-two on 10.0 scores. What kept it from a two-bagger were the "Ask The Divas" and "Raw Rewind" segments. What made Superstars so good last week was the straight-up focus on wrestling and one of its wrestlers. The matches this week were just as solid (best to worst came in card order), and it was nice that MVP was highlighted with a video. But the time spent on the two filler segments could have been used for the Morrison-Kidd match. By the time D.H. and Natalya were ejected, Tyson Kidd didn't have quite as much time to show what he can do. He did very well with what time he had, but it's obvious that he's in a holding pattern for now. Yoshi is still hanging in there, and Regal gets his win back to keep that series going. No complaints there. Since Superstars usually tapes with Raw, the dead crowd carried over to (or started with) Superstars. I thought I even heard booing, but maybe my ears were playing tricks on me. Orton milked the time for all he could in his match with Primo since he gets so little quality time on Raw. He's the champion, right? Like Jericho on Monday, Orton couldn't rile the crowd for anything. Shame on the crowd.

-- 7/30 TNA Impact Reax

Colin Johnson of Kalamazoo, Mich. (6.0): Best: Samoa Joe vs. Hernandez. Worst: Main Event. To start off, Kurt Angle claims that the MEM dominating the rest of the TNA roster will lead to higher ratings. Uh, I've watched the MEM dominate the rest of the roster for months now, and no ratings growth. Kurt Angle also stated that the MEM makes over 75 percent of the TNA payroll. Hey Dixie, that's why your company sucks right now. Joe vs. Hernandez was a good match with a surprisingly clean upset. Hopefully these two face each other on the next PPV because that could very well be a Match of the Night candidate. Same thing can be said about A.J. Styles and Matt Morgan, which was another solid match. Unfortunately, pretty much everything after that sucked. The Knockouts bore me to tears. I just don't have any interest in watching them. What is TNA doing with Shelley and Sabin? Next, you had the World Elite come out and Eric Young cut a surprisingly good promo. The match was mediocre at best though, especially since World Elite needed a 6-on-2 advantage AND a screw job finish to win the match. Normally, I would say this stable isn't going to last long, but it's TNA, so they'll probably force it down our throats just like they're currently doing with the NW... I mean MEM. Does TNA seriously have nothing better for Abyss other than to keep him feuding with Dr. Stevie? The Main Event was boring and had a predictable ending which for some reason included Foley getting yet another title. Has Christopher Daniels gotten a title win since his return? (No, I'm not counting his literally five-minute-long X-Division title run from a couple of months ago.) Foley is supposed to be on the side of the young guys, yet has done virtually nothing to elevate them. And to top it all off, TNA frantically advertised that Impact would have an extra 15 minutes added to their broadcast, and they only gave us an extra four. Wow.
