-- 8/10 WWE Raw Reax
Jeff Bordner of Herndon, Pa. (1.0): Best Match: Chris Jericho vs. John Cena. Worst Match: DX skits. Seriously, who's comes up with this? DX was great back in the day, but it is dead and buried. I believe they even said the quote about Owen Hart that he's a nugget that just won't go down when you flush. That's what DX has turned into. Trips needs to go on a serious heel turn and get back to prominence. Orton is losing his heat. He has been embarrassed one time too many to be taken seriously anymore. And the whole ripping on Canada thing is old as well. Let it go, WWE! Why would you take another shot at Bret Hart anyhow? Classless and stupid. Especially when you have two guys who are nobodies like Slaughter and Duggan and you're taking shots at a guy who carried your company for how many years? Let it go. Jericho was the only high point on this show!
Adam Colgan of Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland (5.5): Best: Divas four-way. Worst: Masters vs. MV "I've got a criminal record" P. A mixed bag, mostly good matches with terrible outcomes. The best match that didn't have a terrible outcome if I'm being unbiased was the Divas four-way. And Beth Phoenix still lost. The match had some great spots, including Beth Phoenix lifting Kelly and Kim up for a powerslam maneuver. Too bad it had to be broke up by Alicia, who has definitely improved a lot. Kim had her great missile dropkick again. I was excited for Beth Phoenix, as it looked like WWE was going to let her use her full potential as she went for a huge moonsault, but of course she's stopped before she can do anything. Of course, she loses the match. Figures. Swagger-Bourne was all right. Another three minute match with Bourne getting in a lot of offense before Swagger hit an offensive move and gutwrench powerbombed him. MVP then comes out. Let's make fun of Swagger because he has a lisp. Wow, MVP definitely won me over by insulting the best pure athlete in the WWE 'cause he has a lisp. Masters-MVP was a snore. Turns out Masters doesn't make an impact by winning matches; he just likes locking in the Masterlock. The Miz winning his contract back was brilliant. I was laughing and was happy. I didn't see that coming actually. Who knows, maybe WWE will use him properly now. Oh wait, WWE doesn't seem to care about the mid-card. Smilin' Markswoggle and Hornswoggle lost this week sadly. I'd rather have seen them beat Legacy than Chavo. Poor Chavo, getting punished for his aunt actually wanted to *gasp* look after her family. Big Show vs. Orton was all right. I've finally become used to seeing Orton look like a coward week after week after week. This actually wasn't a bad match; I liked Orton's hangman DDT. But sure enough he had to run away because Vince laughs at the idea of making Orton look like a credible champion. Jericho-Cena ended in predictable interference and once again no announcement was gave who won. Sgt. Slaughter was actually pretty good. Definitely better than Jeremy "Summerfest" Piven, ZZ Top, and Seth Green. Was a nice touch to see him constantly mock the Canadians. People say it was disrespectful. I say it's nowhere near as disrespectful as the stupid American fans booing when William Regal ordered Lillian Garcia to sing "God Save the Queen." DX reunion was actually pretty funny. Nice Summerfest joke by Shawn. Wow, wasn't it awesome when he kicked that wee girl? But it looks like WWE would rather have Shawn kick a 12-year-old in the face than properly promote a pay-per-view. At least there was no actor I've never heard of pretending he knows about wrestling and then botches the name of the second biggest wrestling PPV. I'm bound to have heard of Freddy Prinze, Jr. Hmm... oh, it's that guy from Scooby-Doo. Well, fire up the Mystery Machine.
