Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (10.0): Best: Punk vs. Morrison. Worst: Kane segments. How WWE can end on such a good note after a bad start is beyond me. Sure, the Kane-Khali match will be the ultimate in trainwrecks. And, yes, the whole kidnapping and attacking storyline is campy. But I expected nothing but a campy trainwreck from the get-go so I'm not angry with the feud. The Kane segments, while bad, were miles more entertaining than the DX segments on Monday. I'm still not sure what the deal with Teddy's probation is; hopefully it's not a desperation heel turn. Jeff was trying too hard to sell his injuries. I think it was partly because I don't think anyone was sure what injuries to sell since usually the chair "injuries" mean off time. All the matches were at least good, including Melina vs. Layla. Back when she first started, I saw potential in Layla (I'm still waiting for Rosa). But any momentum was quickly killed by being part of Extreme Expose a few years ago. Really wished the Kane segment didn't break into the match as that did take away from what could have been. I'm liking the idea of the educated mountain man in Mike Knox. Gets away from the easy temptation to make him a redneck or backwoods gimmick like Festus. The finale was grand. The Hart Dynasty was put over the right way (wish I could say the same for Legacy at this point). Meanwhile, looks like Matt can be looked at as a face (so far). Punk continues to draw some serious heat with his obsession (dare we say addiction?) to taking out Jeff Hardy. It's leading my markish friend to see a Hardy vs. Punk match at Summerslam...just not the Hardy currently booked. With Morrison continuing to hover in orbit around the main event situation I'd take it a step further: Matt vs. Punk vs. Morrison in THE main event. Punk gets his wish and Jeff is out after next week, but the match goes on for the vacated title, booked at Summerslam itself. It's vacation time, Jeff. And don't worry: these three should be able to keep the light on for you.
Adam Colgan of Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland (8.0): Best: John Morrison vs. CM Punk. Worst: Kane/Khali/Ranjin Segments. The opening segment was good until Jeff Hardy came out. Dolph vs. Finlay was pretty good. I liked the way they once again retained Finlay's credibility by having Mike Knox interfere. This could be an intriguing feud and I liked the craziness of Mike Knox after the match. Once again, that crossbody was pretty sweet. In my opinion, Mike Knox is getting better and just needs a good program to develop and show off his skills and this Finlay program could be what I'm talking about. I was extremely disturbed by the Kane segments. Haven't been this disturbed by a segment on Smackdown since Heidenreich's fun with Michael Cole. I'd rather not go there. I'm hoping that they add a stipulation as in Last Man Standing or at least hardcore to this match because without some form of hardcore rules it could get as Good Ol' Jr would say, Bowling Shoe Ugly. I'll leave it at that. John Morrison and C.M. Punk had another great encounter. Although, if I'm being honest, I would have liked to have seen Punk cheat to win somehow then after he wins back the title Morrison could've done the whole "you've never beat me fairly" thing. Melina vs. Layla was pretty good. Not as good as the four-way women's match on Raw, but still pretty good. I especially like the flexibility of Melina. Nice to see her use the last call, preceded by the awesome scream. Big Show vs. JTG wasn't good if I'm being honest, which is hard for me to say because I've really come to like JeriShow. Jericho on commentary once again was brilliant. He'd make a brilliant heel color commentator some day. And his cheap shots on Shad were pretty good as well. Hart Dynasty vs. Hardy was pretty good. I'm a huge fan of Tyson Kidd and have started to like D.H. Smith as well. Great to see Kidd pin the World Champ after a very nice modified Hart Attack. I loved the ending to Smackdown this week. The whole Matt Hardy will he/won't he was very well executed. And Matt's solid facial expressions were brilliant. I hope that they give him a push. This teased four-way TLC match for the World Title would be awesome.
