-- 8/17 WWE Raw Reax

Double A, Torch reader (7.0): Best Match: Bourne vs. Miz. I would have loved to see it go longer and let Miz have more time to be the Miz. He may be the next best pure heel in the WWE. Worst: Chavo vs. Hornswoggle. It's just tired at this point. Good to see Legacy beat down DX and for the "Supermen" to show that they are vulnerable. Cena/Orton vs. Jericho/Show was okay for what it was, but it defied logic. Why in the heck would Cena be so HOT to tag in and clean house when JeriShow was putting the beatdown on Orton? It would have made way more sense for Cena to not take the tag like Orton had done earlier and let the heels beat Orton senseless going into their title match. They teased Cena as a tweener with more of an edge and the ends justifies the means character only to have him go full Super Hero Face tonight.

Daevaanamd Singh of New York City (2.0): Best match: Kofi Kingston vs. Carlito (w/Rosa Mendes). Worst match: Chavo Guerrero vs. Hornswoggle. Some people think this Raw was mediocre, or even good. I respectfully (not!) disagree. Raw is an embarrassment to the pro wrestling industry and this show was no exception. It was completely and utterly lackluster. The guest host skit with Santino and Prinze (who, according to Lawler, stars in such hit movies as Scooby Doo...like anyone cares about Scooby anymore) is a total waste. Santino can be funny, but Summerslam hype is more important and valuable than a lame Santino skit. (By the way, the Summerslam website is unhelpful, and therefore useless. I prefer the simple WWE.com version with the matches listed clearly.). Orton seems to take five minutes to walk to the ring nowadays, and also seems to feud with guest hosts more than with Cena. I'm glad Orton hurt the guest host, though, since I'm tired of guest hosts being the main focus of the show. Prinze seemed to get injured a little too easily, which made Orton look strong, but seemed unrealistic. The Kofi-Carlito match was solid, mostly due to Kofi's athletic ability. Rosa Mendes didn't do anything in the match, which made me wonder why she was there at all. The Bourne-Miz match was decent, but not great like it could be. The divas match was decent, for a diva match. I was sick of the DX cooking skit flashbacks a long time ago, and today was no exception. I wasn't too pleased with the DX entrance, for there is no need to flash the Titantron pictures on the television screen, when the camera should be focused on DX themselves. I was glad Legacy almost seemed to be a credible tag team for about five seconds. By the way, is it just me or are there a ton of WWE 7/11 Summerslam cup commercials? I counted five, at least. Another cheesy Cena promo, and Chavo faces Hornswoggle again. A horrible match, and NOT a good way to showcase Chavo's talent (they obviously weren't intending to showcase his talent, ever). I do not want Mark Henry to team with Hornswoggle, either. The main event was good for hyping Summerslam, but nothing special. I forgot when the MVP-Swagger match was in the show, but it seemed like a short way to get to the next commercial break. Looking back, it was a smart move to take out the guest host for most of the program. Overall, definitely not a good show, but an improvement over some of the past weeks.
