ECW TV Reax #3: "If you asked me four months ago about actually enjoying Goldust in WWE again, I would have said you are crazy"

-- 8/18 ECW TV Reax

A.A. Norman of Tulsa, Okla. (1.5) Best: None. Worst: Everything. The Abraham Washington didn't just kill the crowd at the show, but it also killed the crowd in front of my television. I appreciate what ECW does - giving younger wresters TV time and older wrestlers a chance to still perform or regroup after a bad gimmick - I just disliked last night's broadcast a lot. If Warehouse 13 wasn't airing right before it, I probably wouldn't still be tuning in.

Adam Riemer of New York, N.Y. Best: Actual progression of multiple feuds. Worst: WWE still feeling the need to use the turrets angle with Goldust. ECW is a breath of fresh air on Tuesday nights. We have to sit through the garbage of Raw where the only feuds that seem to matter are those involving Hunter, Cena, HBK, and Orton/Legacy, only to get to ECW where they have the main event feud, and also manage to continue to progress Hurricane/Burchill and Goldust/Sheamus. It's nice to see that not everything on ECW has to do with the one title, something Raw should consider. Anyway, I really liked the beating on Dreamer and Christian. The best way for heels to get over is to beat the faces once in a while, and for the faces to actually sell the beating, unlike a certain someone who took an RKO on Monday night and then 30 seconds later was cleaning house on a 500 lb. giant and Chris Jericho. Having Regal/Koslov/Jackson do what they did to both Christian and Dreamer was great! The fans now want to see Regal get his at the PPV, and that is the goal isn't it - to sell the PPV and the chance to see the face champion gain revenge on the brutal heel? If you asked me four months ago about actually enjoying Goldust in WWE again, I would have said you are crazy, but I am starting to like the guy once more. The only issue is that they really need to have him drop the turrets gimmick. Come on... he even said how long ago it was. Most of the fans that WWE targets were too young to remember that anyway, so why bring it up? Why not push him as a more serious character than the stupid turrets. His face off with Sheamus was so intense and well done until he had to go back to being all comical. Also, I enjoy the Hurricane-Burchill feud and also giving them more time to tell the story than even the main events on Raw. The only issue I have is that I would like to see Burchill get a leg up one of these times. He doesn't have to beat the Hurricane in a match necessarily right away to do it, I mean he could ambush Shane Helms in the back, couldn't he? One last thought. Koslov and Ahmed Jackson could be a great heel tag team if done right, but just don't expect first class wrestling from either two.
