-- 8/23 WWE Summerslam PPV Reax

Phil Sanchez, Torch reader (8.5): Best: TLC. Worst: Kane Vs. Khali. A strong showing for WWE. Ziggler really put himself on the map tonight. Really good opener with Rey. The Swagger, MVP promo was well done. That said, the match wasn't long enough to be a break-out performance for either man. Cryme Time had a pretty fun little match with Jeri-Show. The right team won, but Cryme Time took a step forward with tonight's performance. Kane and Khali was what you'd expect. Kane going over is certainly the right call here. He's a solid big man, whereas Khali is more of a circus attraction at this point. DX got a huge reaction in the building. Great entrance, great match. This was especially fun when Cody and Shawn were in. This is the best I've seen from Legacy. Let's hope they keep this feud going. Regal got ambushed! But this should make for some good TV, and a re-match is bound to come. The WWE Title match was a clustermess for sure, but it kept you on the edge of your seat. Since WWE doesn't do this often, it worked tonight. Who interfered? Maybe "The Miz?" A little cliffhanger for tommorrow night. Jeff Hardy really put it on the line tonight. Excellent TLC match. Some of those spots were insane! Thank you, Jeff. Then we got a surprise ending. Taker and Jeff switched places, literally. All in all a pretty damn good Summerslam.

Christopher Bustamante of Boston, Mass. (9.0): Best Match: John Cena vs. Randy Orton. Worst Match: Kane vs Khali. This year's Summerslam wasn't the best nor was it awful. The show started off great with the IC Title match. Jack Swagger vs. MVP was just really boring and the crowd wasn't into the match. There was no point in this match or no point in having it on Summerslam. I liked the Unified Tag Team Title match amd the right people won - Jericho and Big Show. The show picked up, then dropped when we heard Kane's music hit. This match was boring at WrestleMania 23 and with no stipulation added, this match was still boring. The DX vs Legacy match was great from the intro to the end. Great wrestling from the young Rhodes and DiBiase. The problem was we all knew DX would win, which kind of ruined the match. Christian vs. Regal wasn't bad. It only continues the feud for Regal and his friends vs. Christian at Breaking Point. After seeing that "Regal Stretch," I think Regal will take the ECW Championship at Breaking Point. Cena vs. Orton will always be better than the Orton vs. Triple H rivalry. The fan ruined the match in my opinion, but Randy needed to win and make Cena fight harder at Breaking Point. The main event was short but exciting. Very happy to see we are going to get a Undertaker vs. C.M. Punk feud started. I enjoyed Summerslam, but in my opinion, Backlash is still the pay-per-view to beat this year.
