WWE Raw Reax #2: "Oh, there's Carlito, haven't buried him in a while, let's have Vince McMahon punch him out"

-- 8/24 WWE Raw Reax

Sergio H. of Phoenix, Ariz. (2.0): Best: Vince didn't hurt himself. Worst: Legacy loses legitimacy over night. Raw had a great opportunity to capitalize after an above average pay-per-view, but they decided that wrestling would be not be necessary tonight. Hmmm. I wonder who could be inside of that giant novelty cake? Good thing we have 20 MINUTES to figure it out. We have never seen a joke like this before....OH MY...it's a male stripper. Glad to see WWE is sticking to staunch family values. As it turns out, MVP, Mayweather, and Henry are best friends. We also find out that Show and Jericho are friends too. Now that we are all friends, MVP and Henry get a forced program with the champs that will hopefully add to the heel's dominance with the belts. For what its worth, Jericho had some funny moments and his reversal of the Strongest Slam looked great. Even if you're not a fan of Shawn Michaels, no one can argue that he can make anyone look credible in the ring. Michaels continued to remove the label of "the weak one" from Cody Rhodes. Rhodes landed a surprise finisher last night and his running bulldog looked devastating tonight. I'd rather see Joe Hennig getting the call to the show, but a DiBiase connection could open a lot of interesting storylines. Finish off the show with the standing fireman's carry of death from Cena, and we have ourselves a program that had no shot from the word go.

Jeremy Hegg of South Bend, Ind. (2.0): Best Match: Jerishow vs. MVP/Henry. Worst Match: Chavo vs. Hornswoggle XXVI. It's been reported that Vince McMahon recently said in a creative meeting, "Dammit, Why Can't We Create New Stars?" Look no further than this Raw for answers. We waste 25 minutes at the beginning of the show with DX shenanigans, and get another appearance from Big Dick Johnson, a joke that has never been funny (and this is supposed to be PG rated entertainment?). I wonder what Jack Swagger is doing. Oh that's right, absolutely nothing. Santino actually wrestles on Raw for a change to put over Miz. Meh, serviceable I guess. Wow, another six-diva tag. What have we had more of this year? Triple H-Orton matches, Chavo-Hornswoggle matches, or six-diva tag matches? I think it's a four-way tie with Legacy vs. any combination of Triple H, Cena, Batista, Shane, Vince, or HBK in six-man tag main events and/or three-on-two handicap matches. Mayweather for his part did a decent job hosting, or at least showing up late to confront Jericho/Big Show and actually make ONE match on camera, with it being assumed he booked the Divas match and Chavo-Hornswoggle fiasco, but he had nothing to do with the main event booking. Gotta love that unlimited power some celebrities supposedly have. Isn't it just a one week hosting gig? Why is Floyd Mayweather able to sign a Tag Team Title match for a pay-per-view for a championship that isn't even exclusive to Raw? My head hurts. So apparently MVP & Mark Henry are being pushed again this week in a "thrown together at the last minute" tag team. At least Jericho & Big Show will actually give them credibility. Maybe Evan Bourne's appearance was to set up a feud between him and Chavo to get Chavo away from the weekly gimmick matches where he loses to a midget. Oh, there's Carlito, haven't buried him in a while, lets have Vince McMahon punch him out. Triple H and HBK did their part to make Legacy seem credible last night, and tonight DiBiase and Rhodes look more credible than your freaking champion does as he loses to the 64-year old owner of the company on his birthday. I don't care if it was after two consecutive finishers, the WWE champion should not lose to the semi-retired owner of the company. Orton's been through enough this year. He was pushed better than this in 2006 when his attitude problems were at their worst. I'm going to watch Smackdown, a show actually booked by a *gasp* former wrestler. Seriously, Smackdown and ECW are what's keeping WWE afloat these days. If it was just Raw, WWE would be in serious trouble.
