WWE Raw Reax #7: "I just don't see how this Raw was as bad as the other reactors say"

-- 8/24 WWE Raw Reax

John Bragg, schoolteacher (6.0): Best match: JeriShow vs. MVP & Henry. Worst Match: Random Divas. I haven’t watched Raw in a while, and I didn’t like the 2006 DX reunion, but it was entertaining tonight. The birthday party was juvenile, but led to the main event. The Miz match wasn’t much, but furthered a program and put over the U.S. Title. The JeriShow vs. Mayweather confrontation brought up the past and led to something with a point. I was half expecting MVP to bust out Jericho’s old “Would you please Shut The Hell Up?” MVP & Henry is a good pairing to challenge Jerishow, and gives Henry something to do that doesn’t involve Chavo and Hornswoggle. MVP looked strong, taking everything Jericho and Big Show had to dish out and getting in some offense of his own and the win. Nice continuity with Mayweather using the same brass knuckles he used at WrestleMania. Nitpick: Why does Orton care about punting McMahon so much? Answer: McMahon’s gradual face turn - supporting Cena with rulings and palling around with DX. Hornswoggle vs. Chavo hopefully ended tonight, replaced by Chavo vs. Evan Bourne for a few weeks. Hey, look, Evan Bourne has something to do - beat up Chavo for a while. Carlito is very close to being wished good luck in his future endeavors. Team him up with Primo again. Main Event made Legacy look credible. Mayweather was a good guest host. Having him make matches over the phone and arrive mid-show hasn’t been done for a guest host before, and I thought it was effective. I would bring Mayweather back regularly whenever WWE rolls through Vegas or whenever Mayweather has a really big match to hype. I just don't see how this Raw was as bad as the other reactors say. Next week, if half the show is DX nostalgia again, then they have a point. But I think that the writers paid attention to the past and future tonight. Too often that doesn't happen.

Adam J. Grammas of Westchester, Ill. (n/a): Best: WCW commercial. Worst: Hornswoggle vs. Chavo. Once again, I missed the first hour. But I have to ask, exactly how many times did Chris Jericho lean up against MVP and call a spot to him during the tag match? I lost count at four. Actually the highlight for me was not the tired DX jokes nor the tired Hornswoggle stuff, but the commercial for the WCW DVD. They sure went out of their way to bury Nash on there! I'd love to hear Big Lazy's reaction to that.
