WWE TLC PPV Reax #3: "It's almost comical that every time WWE gets caught in a booking corner, they use Teddy Long and Undertaker's past"

-- 12/13 WWE TLC PPV Reax

Bryan Kirckof of Toms River, N.J., college student (7.0): Best Match: Shelton Benjamin vs. Christian. Worst Match: Drew McIntyre vs. John Morrison. Decent show, and I enjoyed myself while watching it. Was it just me, or did the crowd seem dead tonight? I could have probably heard a pin drop when Sheamus won the title. I wonder, were they stunned to silence or was it the crowd's overall indifference to his character? I wish the announcers didn't foreshadow Sheamus winning though, as it nearly ruined the match for me. I like the way his title win feels. It has this important weight to it, as nobody has ever reached the top this quickly. At least it's different. Different is what WWE needs now more than anything. He seemed to fare well with Cena and he didn't look out of place. I hope they allow him to be a respectable champ and not drop the belt on Monday's three-hour Raw. The McIntyre-Morrison match wasn't bad, but seriously, does Drew do anything but punch and kick? I think he did three moves the whole match and one of them was a basic suplex. It's a shame that Dolph Ziggler, who seems like the better wrestler, couldn't win the IC Title and this guy has it basically handed to him. In the ECW Title ladder match, why didn't Shelton just go for the title while they were cleaning up Christian's blood? Their ladder match was great though. No surprise there. The Women's Title match wasn't half bad. I don't understand why they dog on Mickie James so much. Why does the WWE insist on humiliating their talent? Do they want her to quit? Taker vs. Batista was merely serviceable. I wasn't expecting much there to begin with. DX vs. JeriShow was good. It was a fun match with a clever ending but it didn't feel like a TLC match. Where were the tables? The crowd, too, was wondering this with a "we want tables" chant. I think putting the tag belts on DX may have been a mistake as Jericho was the reason I watched Raw. I hope he still remains a part of the show. Now DX can sell their merchandise on all three shows. Orton-Kingston was good, but I think the victory should have gone to Kofi. If Orton cheats to win his matches, but beats Kofi clean what does that say about Kofi? I thought the point of the Kofi-Orton feud was breaking Kofi in as a legitimate main event contender. I hope they keep his push going and don't just forget about him.

Chris C. of Fort Bliss, Tex., Army soldier (5.0): Best Match: Christian vs. Shelton. Worst Match: Batista vs. Undertaker. Normally I would say that Cena losing the belt tonight would automatically make his match with Sheamus match of the night. But not tonight. Christian and Shelton put on a show and embodied what a TLC Pay-Per-View should be, minus the crazy cut scene on Christian which incidentally almost made him look like a paper champion. At any rate it's almost comical now that every time WWE gets caught in a booking corner, they throw in the garbage about Teddy Long and the Undertaker's past at us like it was something worth remembering from the feud with C.M. Punk. That match was horribly booked except for Big Dave's promo on Smackdown. Having a straight chairs match was a horrible idea. The restart and the finish pretty much blew this PPV for me. There's one more thing that I would like to voice my opinion on. Everyone who thinks Sheamus is a horrible heel and got pushed way before his prime should consider this. The top heel on Raw right now is currently a babyface and is well loved by many and has been for almost three years. His name? Triple H. As I watched Hunter and Michaels capture tag gold tonight, I thought to myself: what a spot it would have been to see Triple H pedigree Michaels as HBK climbed the ladder to capture gold. What good does it to have a washed up DX hold the gold if this is simply a transitioning of the tag titles? There certainly will not be a DX vs. Legacy feud again as it has simply run it's course. Triple H needs to make his heel turn and become the superstar that he once was.
