TNA Final Resolution Reax #2: "Angle vs. Wolfe captured what wrestling should be and exactly what wrestling is missing right now"

-- 12/20 TNA Final Resolution PPV Reax

Andrew Vincent of Toronto, Ont.: Best Match: Angle vs. Wolfe. Worst: Feast or Fired. First of all, TNA delivered a year-end pay-per-view with two solid matches putting anything WWE has produced lately to shame. This was not a great PPV by all means, yet it did the job specifically with their two main event matches to make this PPV worth the purchase. Angle vs. Desmond Wolfe displayed wrestling as it should be and exactly what wrestling is missing right now. Daniels vs. Styles was a good, solid match with both men looking good - lots of great action brought forth by both men. The female matches were decent, Joe getting the TNA title shot briefcase was good, but the whole feast and fired match is a stupid gimmick match that should not exist. All in all, despite the good and bad, TNA ended with a bang for their last PPV of the year. I only hope they can keep it up and build from this.

-- 12/21 WWE Raw Reax

John of Cocoa Beach, Fla., writer (1.0): Best Match: Cena vs. Swagger. Worst: Any segment with Johnny Damon. Is WWE not taking TNA's January 4 Monday debut seriously? After this show, they should. So many things horrified me on this show. The Tiger scenes to open the show and then with the Bellas were funny, but enough's enough. The Little People's Court skits with DX and Hornswoggle was the worst acting I've seen out of Shawn Michaels and Triple H. Maybe Shawn should have stayed in Texas flipping burgers. Johnny Damon's total cluelessness dramatically affected the flow of the show. This guy would have been an excellent heel guest host, considering his past with the Yanks and Red Sox and with Raw in Tampa Bay, home of the smaller market Rays. It was nice for the Florida fans to see Dusty Rhodes again. Just hearing his voice brought back so many memories of his greatest Florida matches against the Funks, Harley Race, Superstar Graham, and Kevin Sullivan, and all with the late Gordon Solie calling the action. Seeing the six-man tag featuring Evan Bourne joining Mark Henry and Kofi Kingston versus Randy Orton and Legacy made me think Evan would job again. I was then pleasantly surprised the faces won. But, this was another blown opportunity to do the DiBiase face turn. I was very impressed with Jack Swagger on the show against Cena. This guy can go places with a heel manager who has promo skills like Bobby "the Brain" Heenan had. The random Santas of Sgt. Slaughter, IRS, and Chris Jericho made me wish for coal in my stocking. I saw a sign that said, "Sign Guy for Guest Host." He would have been better than Damon.
