WWE Raw/TNA Impact Reax #1: "The chemistry between Hart and HBK was off the charts, but the rest of the show was just like a million other Raws I've seen"

-- 1/4 WWE Raw and TNA Impact Reax

Chad Holdren of South Lake Tahoe, Calif. (8.0): Best Match: Bourne vs. Sheamus. Worst: DX-JeriShow. Let me get this out of the way right now. I was flipping back and forth the entire time even though I said to myself that I was going to watch ONLY Raw because it was wrestling history. The show opened with Bret just as Hulk was talking, which I thought was great because I wanted an excuse to just sit back and watch WWE. Hart came out and he looked good. I mean looked great. Then, HBK came out and they had what was, in my eyes, the best TV promo I have seen in a long time. The chemistry was just off the charts and the live crowd was hot. It was a great way to start out the show and seeing Hart back in a WWE ring after 12 long years gave me serious goosebumps. The rest of the show, though, was just like a million other Raws I have seen except they didn't shove Cena down our throats this week. I am sure the DX comedy will end now that Hart has his story, so maybe we will get to see HBK a little more serious from now on. Seeing Jericho leave was a low-blow to Raw, as Raw really doesn't have any huge stars other than DX, Cena, and Orton. One last thing - WWE has a lot of work to do. They need to stop treating the audience like kids and have more of a universal outlook on their fanbase. Raw will win the ratings war tonight, but TNA definitely brought their A-Game with Angle and A.J. Styles.

Efren of Phoenix, Ariz: Raw (5.0). Best: Opening Segment. Worst Match: Randy Orton vs. Kofi Kingston. Impact (5.0): Best Match: A.J. Styles vs. Kurt Angle. Worst Match: Steel Asylum. Hey TNA, you really didn't just No-Contest your opening match on the biggest night in your company's history, right? Do you know why both shows got a 5.0? Because I was flipping back and forth between the two shows, and that only benefits one person: the fan. This felt like old times!

James Beckwith of Nashville, Tenn. Best TNA Match: Angle vs. Styles. Worst TNA segment: Knockouts Poker. This was far and away the best broadcast in TNA history and that includes every pay-per-view they've ever produced. The in-ring segment with Hogan and The Outsiders seemed to stall just a bit. There were surprisingly few matches for a three-hour program, but each match was given plenty of time in the ring. The live crowd definitely helped this show. They were pumped from start to finish. TNA went all-out recruiting new talent for this show. The only surprise they seemed to have possibly saved are RVD and Ken Anderson assuming either sign with the company. This was far from a perfect show, but it was leaps and bounds above anything they have ever done and have hooked this occasional viewer to tune in next week.
