WWE Raw Reax #1: "The heat for MVP-Miz was better than anything else I have seen on WWE TV in months"

-- 1/11 WWE Raw

Matthew Robins of Chicago, Ill. (5.0): Best: Michael Cole's Shirt/Suit combo. Worst: Only one wrestling show on tonight to watch. Slightly better show than last week until Hornswoggle came out, which was worth negative 1.5 points. That being said...For everyone that thinks and writes that TNA is stuck is the past by who they trotted out last week, well the WWE did them one better. Finishing off a feud from WrestleMania 14...are you kidding me? I bet Butterbean is free for another Brawl For All. He can knock out Consequences Creed to re-claim his trunks. Mike Tyson's music sounded like a remix of the Godfather's and Eve's new music resembles The Patriot's. I also love how the difference between Tyson's in-ring gear and street clothes is black and blue pants. Random...I apologize. The heat for MVP-Miz, in about four minutes, was better than anything else I have seen on WWE TV in months. I wonder if Vince Russo wrote MVP's shoot. Too bad Cole called him "The Animal," and too bad they're feuding over a fourth-level title. Orton vs. Sheamus is fresh, but either it's heel vs. heel or someone in the back realized Orton's becoming a face right before our eyes. The Rock vs. Mankind at Survivor Series this is not. ... Vince in three minutes stole the show, and he didn't even need Bret there for help. Not sure what we'll see next week: Shawn Michaels reviving another feud (where oh where is that girl from the cafeteria?) or Chris Jericho showing up at NBC and replacing Conan O'Brien. ... Michael Cole is either the biggest tool in the shed or he deserves more Emmys than John Laroquette. I wish I could mute my TV and listen to the radio announcers like I do when my local sports team is on national TV.

Matthew Valcho of Shreveport, La. (3.5): Michaels, Austin, and Tyson as enforcer - who could forget? It was only fitting to put Tyson back in the ring. But unfortunately, Jericho never leaves! Last week, he lost and he was banished forever, only to return just a week later? Weak. I remember when the brand split actually mattered. It always made inter-brand PPVs feel more special. Also, MVP and Miz were awesome on the mic. I just wish they were feuding over something more important than the U.S. Title. Plus, the #1 contender's match was sloppy. Lastly, Mysterio vs. Batista in a cage match in my eyes is a good way to come back from the sloppy ending to last week's Smackdown.

Jesse Thomas of Chesapeake, Va. (-99): Raw was mostly crappy. It's time to end this freakin' brand extension since no one stays on their own show anyway. Unify the World Titles, turn the U.S. or IC belt into a Hardcore/Cruiserweight title, unify the Women's and Divas titles, start a Women's tag division, and use ECW as a developmental territory show, which is practically what it is. Superstars could be a territorial developmental show also. Please, Vince, end this miserable blood-losing brand extension. I've never been the type of person to criticize the product, but sane people can't take it anymore. The heck with GMs and guest hosts. Bring back a Commissioner or some type of ruling authority.
