WWE Raw Reax #4: "I wouldn't be surprised if Orton refuses to work with Kofi again after his screw-up"

-- 1/11 WWE Raw Reax

Ben Rash of Portland, Ore. (2.0): Best: Miz vs. MVP. Worst Match: Main Event. Was anyone else shocked that Mike Tyson turned on Jericho? Wow, I didn't see that one coming. I'm very disappointed that Jericho has turned into a jobber to the stars as of late. WWE has become so predictable that I get pleasure out of correctly predicting the outcomes and what's going to happen with all the matches/promos. Here's a suggestion, Vince, I'll come in and write the exact same storylines for a quarter of what you are currently paying the writers. There is promise with the Miz-MVP. It's just too bad that WWE has spent the past six months degrading both of them, making the U.S. Title of little value. Orton-Sheamus is better than a Cena-Sheamus re-match. Raw needs the title in Orton's hands. Kofi has grown leaps and bounds, but it's time to drop the "Kingston gimmick" and get a serious look/theme. An Orton-Kofi feud is still hanging in the air with no real conclusion, but I wouldn't be surprised if Orton decided to not work with Kofi after his screw-up at the end of the triple threat match.

John of Cocoa Beach, Fla., writer (5.0): Best Match: Triple Threat. Worst Match: Eve vs. Katie Lea. A fairly mediocre Raw. Out of force of habit, I hit my remote looking for TNA Impact. Hmm. We saw some good solid wrestling last night in the triple threat match with John Cena, Randy Orton, and Kofi Kingston. I noticed Randy used the fisherman's suplex, which made me wonder that if that was a tribute to Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig since they were in Minneapolis. We saw once again the de-pushing of Jack Swagger and Evan Bourne and the building blocks of what could be a tremendous feud between the Miz and MVP. Two individuals from different worlds and upbringings. The Divas tournament gave us the elevation of Alicia Fox and the usual loss by Kelly Kelly, who was turned into strictly eye candy. Maryse's facial expressions and cockiness make me think we can also have a class warfare feud with Eve and Maryse. Was it me, or was Vince wearing the same suit on Raw that he wore last week? The WrestleMania waters are a lot muddier today than last week since it looks like Shawn Michaels is determined to challenge The Undertaker, but where does this leave Triple H and John Cena for WrestleMania? Prediction for Royal Rumble: I'm thinking Ted DiBiase turns face when it's Legacy alone in the ring like the Horsemen did years ago when they told Lex Luger to go over the ropes so J.J. Dillon could get the win. Luger refused and the Horsemen turned on Lex. Cody agrees to eliminate himself, Ted refuses, and Ted eliminates Orton, hence the face turn and breakup. The final match mysteriously saw no Big Show, as Jericho ended up being double-crossed by Mike Tyson, DX, and their pet Hornswoggle. This was very similar to what happened at WrestleMania 14 between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels, as Jericho played the heel, which was then HBK. And it was nice to see some footage from last year's Hall of Fame ceremony, which was another shot at Hulk Hogan when they aired Vince's intro to Steve Austin when he praised Austin being, "the best-ever WWE superstar." I hoped that Ted DiBiase, Sr. would have been announced as an inductee, but that may wait until after Ted Junior's face turn.

Alexander Dylan of Hawthorne, NY (1.0): Best: The Miz-MVP promo. Worst: The rest of the show. I felt, overall, this Raw was on par with the low bar set by Raw for the past year. It was barley watchable. I honestly put it on in the background because nothing else was on. The only saving grace was the Miz-MVP promo. Watching the Miz and MVP shoot like that was why wrestling can be entertaining. The Miz telling the story of how he was so poorly treated backstage for years was a nice little dig at JBL a/k/a King Hoss. MVP then came out and really stepped up his mic skills. I felt their segment fell apart at the end when they had a brief fight. Might have been better to let them walk out and leave that tension hanging. As for the rest of the show, I know Mike Tyson made a career out of taking punches to the head so we should throw him some leeway, but let's not give him a mic anymore, okay? I was glad the crowd gave some negative feedback to DX. They deserve it. Every week they drag the show down. I get it, Triple H refuses to look weak or bad, just like a sophomoric jackass running around with a midget. I'm surprised HBK hasn't "lost his smile" in this sea of stupidity yet. John Cena, never liked him, never will. Kofi can wrestle, but his mic skills are bland at best. The rest of the show was as dull and unremarkable as usual.
