ECW TV Reax #2: "Hopefully Abraham Washington quit ECW so he can have the 10:00 p.m. timeslot on NBC"

-- 1/12 ECW TV Reax

John of Cocoa Beach, Fla., writer (5.0): Best Match: Ryder vs. Hurricane. Worst Match: none. Good opening segment with Zack Ryder and Rosa, but was that Hurricane or X-Pac under the mask? The Hurricane jobbing made me think that maybe he is heading to the Impact Zone. The flow of the show building to the Homecoming Battle Royal main event was well-thought-out and structured. I expected C.M. Punk to win the match and beat Christian to re-take the ECW Title at the Royal Rumble. He could then hold the title hostage on Smackdown until Christian becomes a member of Smackdown and re-claim it. But, I don't expect Ezekiel Jackson to win at the Rumble. It's going to be Christian's belt for a while, maybe up to WrestleMania. And we have a good feud brewing with Shelton Benjamin and Lance Archer combined with the storyline involving William Regal, Zeke, and Vladimir Kozlov. It's great how ECW portrays Tiffany as a sharp young businesswoman as the General Manager and Savannah is light years better as a ring announcer than Lauren was. Here's hoping if/when they dissolve ECW that Tiffany isn't made a Diva and Savannah maybe goes to Smackdown to replace Tony Chimel. I'm beginning to wonder if Byron Saxton is turning heel or he had to be a faux pax Abraham Washington for the night since there was no Abe Show. Hopefully, Abe has quit ECW so he can have the 10:00 p.m. timeslot on NBC.

-- 1/11 WWE Raw Reax

William Coble, Torch reader: I have been a wrestling fan now for over 25 years. I can honestly say I have come to the point to where I don't even want to watch it anymore. There is nothing exciting or original anymore. Raw this past Monday is another perfect example of the pointless shows and storylines that have influenced the above comment. WWE is having to dig up things from 12-15 years ago, and TNA is having to let the wrestlers our of nursing homes, divorce court, and rehabs to bring a show to us. I have come to the realization that the glory days of wrestling are over. I miss the pure wrestling of the 1980s that kept you on the edge of your seat wondering who will beat the World Champion because they held the title for at least a year and went to 60-minute draws, and storylines that were sensible and made you feel like the guys actually really hated each other. As for me, if I want that, I have to create it on my video games.

Thomas Starr of Deland, Fla., massage therapist (10.0 for The Miz-MVP promo). I didn't watch Monday's Raw live, because I just don't watch it at all anymore. I did, however, check out The Miz-MVP promo on youtube. If they had segments like that every week, I would be a regular viewer. Wow, that was money. Too bad they will probably kill the momentum they gained from that segment next week by either ignoring it or following up with something completely lame. It's just what they always seem to do. It's why I've gone from a regular viewer of over 20 years to watching every now and again maybe once every two months. Segments like that would definitely open my wallet too.
