-- 4/16 WWE Smackdown Reax

Chris of San Jose, Calif. (8.0): Best Match: Hart Dynasty/Rey Mysterio vs. Straight Edge Society/Darren Young. Worst Match: Drew McIntyre vs. Kane. The opening segment with Jericho, Edge, and Teddy Long was very solid, as it set the stage very well for the final match of the night. Although I wasn't pleased with the McIntyre-Kane match, I continue to be impressed with the McIntyre's ring entrance. His music is top notch, and he has the look of a believable World champion in the future. I definitely liked Matt Hardy getting involved in the match because he is still popular with fans. Dolph Ziggler continues to impress me and he sure looks like Curt Hennig in 1989. His mic skills and ring intensity are definitely improving. At some point down the road, I could see Ziggler as U.S. or IC champion. Surprisingly, the Mickie James-Michelle McCool had incredible ring psychology. McCool carried this match with her facial expressions and by selling the moments when she feared defeat. I enjoyed Beth Phoenix interfering and clearing ringside in a nice touch to keep the Women's division program going. The Hart Dynasty/Mysterio vs. SES/Young match gave the crowd the right combination of action and drama. I loved the ending of this match when Mysterio performed the 619 on Punk in the corner behind the ringpost. My only complaint is that Mysterio and Punk came across at times like they weren't connected to their storyline. Miz doing color commentary for this match made my night. The JTG-Caylen Croft match was very entertaining and I was surprised by JTG's skills as a singles wrestler. The Swagger-Edge-Jericho triple threat match was solid. All three wrestlers put together excellent psychology throughout the match. The false finishes added to the drama and I was very happy to see Swagger get a clean pin on Jericho. Swagger nailing Edge with his finisher gave him momentum going into his match against Randy Orton and made him look even stronger as World Heavyweight champion.

Jack Weber of Austin, Tex. (8.0): Best: Edge vs. Chris Jericho vs. Jack Swagger for World Heavyweight Championship. Worst: JTG vs. Caylen Croft. I thought it was a very enjoyable Smackdown. I really enjoyed Miz's commentary during the six-man tag match (the match was also enjoyable). Jack Swagger also had a good match with Edge and Chris Jericho. The Mickie James vs. Michelle McCool match was one of the best Divas matches in the past three months. The only thing I didn't like was the JTG match with Shad interfering. I'm just not enjoying their feud. I liked them better when they were Cryme Tyme talking to the kids to explain the word "king." All in all, a very enjoyable show.
