-- 4/26 WWE Raw Reax
Russell Jaffe of Iowa City, Iowa (9.4): Best Match: Christian vs. Jericho. Worst: Divas, of course. Being a WWE fan is a lot like being in a dysfunctional relationship sometimes - you stick with it for years and when it's good, it feels so great, but sometimes a switch gets flipped and it's just awful, offensive, and downright embarrassing to be associated with. Last night's Draft, however, was a good representation of WWE at its best with great pro wrestling matches, interesting storyline twists and developments, and new situations that may prove really promising. ... I'm upset there won't be an Edge & Christian reunion, but I like that the company is showing faith in Christian, who has worked hard everywhere WWE has slotted him. He is, as of last night, one of the top faces on Smackdown now. I'm left with the feeling that Raw may be too stacked, as I am worried we might get more endless Cena vs. Edge/Jericho/Batista feuds. I can also imagine new feuds between guys like Edge, Jericho, and Orton and guys like Miz, Morrison, and R-Truth. The best parts of the Draft are the worst parts: the waiting game to see where WWE goes next. Will they give new feuds and characters a shot? Will they rest on their laurels with proven names in recycled feuds? Added bonus: I think violence is a natural part of pro wrestling and it doesn't always need to be brutal chair shots. In that respect, I liked seeing Ziggler viciously choke out Hornswoggle to get heat after Horny's count-out victory.
-- 4/26 Raw & TNA Impact Reax
Bill Sartori of Windsor Locks, Conn. (Raw 4.0 & Impact 3.0): I went back and forth between both shows, as usual, and both shows had good and bad in them. I loved Bret Hart's mention of David Arquette. Priceless. I thought that the Draft was rather flat with only eight wrestlers moved. Of course, the big question is whether Edge is back to being a heel again. ... I enjoyed the banter between Striker and Lawler on commentary. It was much more entertaining than the banter between Cole and Matthews on NXT. ... Batista vs. Cena, again? Why? ... The feature match of Abyss vs. Flair on Impact was ridiculous. Flair nails Abyss with the brass knucks, pins him, then hides the knucks under the arm that the ref raises, the knucks fall out so the ref can see 'em, and the match re-starts. Pure idiocy! Do the TNA writers think that we are that stupid? Earlier in the show, I wanted to see Hardy give Styles the Swanton off the ladder. If Sting is going to use a bat to drill people, at least use a real one. The plastic ones bend too much.
-- 4/25 WWE Extreme Rules PPV Reax
Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (9.0): Best: Edge vs. Jericho. Worst: Shad vs. JTG. WWE was dealt a blow last week with Raw sidelined in Europe, forcing them to go to a Plan B. Plan B ended up happening at the PPV, which kept the show from being downgraded by potential filler. Triple H provided Sheamus with major enhancement, and the story was handled well throughout the show. Hart Dynasty winning the opening gauntlet match was pretty much expected. Meanwhile, Morrison continued the holding pattern that suggested a move to the Red brand. ShoMiz splitting also seemed inevitable, unfortunately. Shad vs. JTG was okay, but there was no real build, and the finish was too reminiscent of Eddie-JBL in the bullrope match. ... Swagger needed the win over Randy Orton and Orton was Teflon in the loss. The Extreme Makeover match came out well, though I was disappointed that no makeup was used. It was time for Beth to have a title run; Michelle has had it long enough. Edge-Jericho told a very good story of how injuries are handled from two different perspectives (one familiar with injuries, one not). Edge winning pretty much was expected, plus it blows off the feud. Cena-Batista was a decent Last Man Standing match with a resourceful ending. I still had that empty feeling without Shawn Michaels being a part of the PPV, but the show wasn't a letdown.
