Jordan Johnson of Fort Hood, Tex. (2.0): Best Match: Rey-Punk. Worst Match: Many to choose from, but I'll go with R-Truth-DiBiase. If this were an episode of Raw, it would have been fine. But for a show that costs $45, this was awful. Admittedly, I rarely watch Smackdown, and with that being said, I don't see much in McIntyre. Judging by the live audience, not many other people do either. Even his entrance song is boring. Punk-Rey was very good while there was action, but the lull in the middle of the match helped suck the life out of it. I didn't understand the booking here. It seemed like this feud had a couple more PPVs to go, but a head-shaving should be the end of the feud. I also thought Mizicho would win the tag titles, as there is a lot more to do with them as champions. ... I read an opinion that Edge's and Orton's styles just seem to clash in the ring, and I tend to agree. Meanwhile, Orton wins the most embarrassing injury award. ... Swagger-Show was about what everyone expected. I understand the DQ finish, but it shouldn't have happened right after the double countout. Two straight non-clean finishes pushed everyone over the limit. ... Maryse is far superior in talent, looks, and mic skills, but Eve was the logical choice to win the Divas Tile match. The show needed a very strong main event to be considered decent, but instead we got the worst I Quit match of all-time. To me, Cena is nearly unwatchable at this point. I thought an I Quit match plus Batista's last match would be reason to watch. And I thought there might be a small chance there would be a swerve with Batista winning. I was wrong. A weak, weak finish. We've all seen Cena recover from finishers, beat downs, and multiple person attacks, but him jumping up after almost being run over by a car was too much.
Richard H. of Wilmington, Ohio (7.0): Overall, it was a good PPV as it met expectations. Like any good show, I thought it finished on a high note with the very entertaining match between Batista and WWE Superman Cena. That managed to dull memories of previous dull spots in the opening matches. As for best match, Kofi vs. Drew was fun just because Drew lost. R-Truth pinned a suddenly boring DiBiase, who was accompanied by the walking zombie, Virgil. Punk and Rey's match could have been most entertaining, but C.M. could not recover the crowd energy sucked out by the blood stoppage. Besides, is Kane the new unofficial stip enforcer? Hart Dynasty's win over Jeri-Miz was surprisingly forgetful and RKO-Edge was ruined by Orton's injury and the bad tasting result. At least now, RKO can capitalize on Cowboy Bob's vast inventory of casts. Show vs. Swagger was predictable with the DQ finish and feeling that this feud is just warming up. Bless her heart, Eve really tries and she is improving every week, but Maryse still generates more heat with a hair flip than Eve does with any of her new moves. That left Cena and Batista's exercises in torture to be the most entertaining match of the night. With the ebb and flow of the different punishing moves, there was some doubt that Batista might not quit. Alas, Batista is done for now and Sheamus is already waiting for Cena. One final thought. It was funny and distracting to see Charles Robinson ref'ing the Punk-Mysterio match with only one latex glove on after Punk was sewn up.
Worth Shemwell, Torch reader (4.0): Out of the eight matches, seven babyfaces won. This PPV didn't seem to solve anything and will only continue to the next PPV. Orton apparently got hurt by smashing his hands into the mat, which is so stupid and funny that I won't go any further with it. To top things off, the Swagger-Show match ended via DQ just minutes after fans saw Orton-Edge end in a way they didn't like. I feel bad for the people that bought a ticket for that show. Cena-Batista tried to make up for it by going out into the crowd, but this past Monday Night Raw's was much better than this show. Both TNA and WWE had bad PPVs this month with no major title changes. Over the Limit was heavily pushed and the card looked good, but the outcome wasn't pretty and Detroit's citizens are now even broker and more upset.
