-- 9/19 Question of the Day Reax: Are you ordering the WWE Night of Champions PPV?
Pablo of Mexico, Torch reader: I'm ordering Night of Champions because I really want to see Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz and also because in Mexico, the PPVs are only $30.
Elliott R., PWTorch reader: Yes, I'm ordering Night of Champions. The main match I want to see is Danielson-Miz, but I am also looking forward to every other match on the card except for the Big Show-Punk match.
Andrew B., PWTorch reader: I am not ordering because I simply do not care enough to warrant the price. The PPVs are too expensive.
KMBraven, PWTorch reader: Not every title is on the line. Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Championship belt isn't on the line tonight. (Editor's Note: WWE has not officially recognized the title, but perhaps DiBiase could pull a Booker T or A.J. Styles and recognize it himself.)
Michael Clark of Memphis, Tenn.: I can't order it. I'm unemployed, so it would put a dent in my pocket. I may just go to a friend's house and watch, though. I'm really interested in seeing how this Six-Pack Challenge will pan out since it's been hyped up well. Also, the Kane-Undertaker match.
Jason Stevens of Edgewood, Md.: I am going to a friend's house so a few of us can split the cost. I usually only watch the traditional PPVs like WrestleMania, Rumble, etc. but WWE has done a nice job piquing my interest in Kane-Taker, which I didn't think I'd ever want to see again. Miz-Danielson has a chance to be really good. I wish Punk had a better opponent, but hopefully Shoe and he can put together a serviceable match. As far as the fact that every title is on the line, that did not factor in my decision to want to see this simply due to the fact that since the Monday Night Wars era, title matches are plentiful for free on TV. I'm giving up a Sunday night for this, so here's hoping the guys ratchet up the athleticism and show that, unlike TNA, you can have competent booking and good in-ring action on the same event.
Andy Lawson of the U.K.: Fortunately, here in the UK, some of the pay-per-views are available for no extra fee on Sky Sports. I would not be ordering it as a PPV as nothing screams 'extraordinary match-up' to me. After the disappointment and waste of money that was Summerslam, I won't be paying for any more events either. WWE is losing my viewership more and more to TNA.
Justin James of Columbia, S.C. I am torn on Night of Champions, as I do not anticipate many high-quality matches. I believe that the Hart Dynasty vs. ??? match will be decent, but I fear that they are going to go with the team of Rhodes and McIntyre, even though “The Gatecrashers” (Archer/Hawkins) have the win-loss record to justify a championship match. Also, the Dudebusters would be a good pairing in the ring. I am interested in the story around Kane and Undertaker, only because I really want to see Taker squashed, but the match itself I do not have high hopes for. The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan match has a ton of potential, both in-ring and story-wise, and is my pick for match of the night. The Divas match should be at least “good enough” with two of WWE's best female workers in the ring at once; I would not be shocked by a return of Beth Phoenix tonight either, which would put a smile on my face. Why they are putting Punk vs. Big Show on the card and not Christian vs. Del Rio is baffling to me. Kingston and Ziggler are stand-out workers, but I’ve seen this match way too many times already and each time they fight, they seem more bored with it too. I anticipate that the Six-Pack Challenge will have decent wrestling (it’s a shame that four of the men have a similar “heavyweight” style) and be completely overbooked. Right now, I’d rather see it at a bar than pay $50 for it, but I won’t know what my plans are until 7:45 tonight. If I order, it will be on the strength of Bryan vs. Miz, the possibility of Christian vs. Del Rio, the hope of Punk crushing Big Show somehow, and the freshness of the Hart Dynasty vs. ???.
