This is an ongoing ''virtual time'' report on tonight's Raw. I will update this report with results and commentary every 10 or 15 minutes throughout the show. You may have to hit refresh in order to see our latest update.
1st Quarter Hour
The show opened with a video recap of Triple H accusing Kane of murdering a woman ten years ago... A backstage shot aired of Kane and Hurricane walking around. Jonathan Coachman approached Kane and asked about Triple H's accusations. "That's none of your business," Kane said sternly... The opening montage aired... Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler introduced the show while Kane & Hurricane made their ring entrance...
(1) Chris Jericho & Christian beat Kane & Hurricane to win the WWE Tag Titles at 6:47. Before the match, Lawler insisted that Kane should address Triple H's claim, saying he would be a coward if he did not. Christian and Jericho made separate entrances. When Jericho came out, Booker T ran out and jumped him from behind. Jericho picked himself up and walked to ringside to start the match. Later, Jericho set up Hurricane for the Walls of Jericho, but Hurricane blocked it and went for a rollup. Jericho rolled through and ended up on top of Hurricane, then placed his feet on the ropes and scored the win. Kane worked more aggressively than usual to help sell the "murderer" storyline.
(Commentary: I'm surprised to see the titles switch hands since I was expecting the hype for Kane's title challenge to be that he had the opportunity to become the only person in company history to hold the World Title, Intercontinental Title, and tag titles all at once. Please tell me the tag title switch doesn't mean we'll get Jericho & Christian vs. Booker & Goldust at the PPV, instead of the expected Jericho vs. Booker singles match.)
[Commercial break]
2nd Quarter Hour
Ross and Lawler recapped the tag title switch. Lawler said Kane's mind wasn't focussed on the match, but instead on the accusations made by Triple H...
Backstage, Goldust and Christian did their best to keep Booker T and Jericho apart. Eric Bischoff entered the picture and booked the foursome in a tag title match at the PPV. After the babyfaces left the scene, Jericho and Christian poured champagne over one another in celebration...
(Commentary: Well, I guess they answered the tag/singles question. I did like the champagne party that Jericho and Christian held because it sells the importance of the tag title switch.)
Lance Storm [artist Joseph Borzotta (c) PWTorch]
(2) Lance Storm beat Al Snow when William Regal interfered at 3:08. Regal joined the announcers on commentary briefly, but ended up going to ringside when the announcers goaded him about wearing the showgirl outfit last week. In the end, Regal climbed onto the ring just in time for Snow to bump into him. Storm took advantage of the situation and scored the pin...
Backstage, Coachman interviewed Victoria about her past issues with Trish Stratus. Victoria she and Trish used to be friends when both were fitness models. She said WWE had shown interest in both of them, but Trish had something to do with her not getting hired. Trish walked into the picture and received a big pop. After a short staredown, Trish slapped Victoria hard and walked away...

Backstage, Rob Van Dam joined Jeff Hardy and Spike Dudley (sporting a black eye) in waiting for Bischoff, who had asked them all to meet him at the interview set. Bischoff entered the picture while clapping for the threesome. Bischoff said he was sorry Bubba Dudley couldn't be there, but was proud of the way the group competed during last week's TLC match. After airing a great video package of the match, Bischoff told Jeff to get ready for his match against Rico. Bischoff rudely dismissed Spike, who told told Bischoff, "Bite me." Bischoff kissed up to RVD and then booked him in a match against Ric Flair at "No Mercy." After RVD agreed to wrestle Flair, Bischoff booked him in a "Canadian Lumberjack match" against Triple H for later in the show. Bischoff explained the stipulations called for 20 men surrounding the ring and using leather straps to keep the wrestlers inside the ring...
3rd Quarter Hour
[Commercial break]
Backstage, a suit-wearing Triple H was pacing in his locker room while complaining to Flair about having to wrestle in the Canadian lumberjack match. "Do you know how many guys in this company would love to take a shot at me with a leather strap," Triple H asked. Flair was sympathetic and also questioned why Bischoff would book him in a match against RVD. Triple H said Kane had until the end of the next match to come clean about his role in the death of Katie Vick, adding that he would tell everyone the truth if Kane didn't...
(3) Jeff Hardy beat Rico at 3:13. Ross acknowledged Rico's past as a Las Vegas police officer and American Gladiators contestant. Ross also mentioned Bubba's concussion injury, but failed to use it to put over the danger of last week's TLC match. In the end, Jeff won with a Swanton Bomb...
Backstage, Hurricane tried to calm down Kane, who said he doesn't care about the tag titles right now. "I just want to be left alone," Kane said. After Hurricane walked away, Terri approached him "as a friend" and urged him to tell the public whatever is on his mind. Kane agreed, pulled up his elbow pad, and headed out to tell his side of the story...

4th Quarter Hour
"Katie Vick was a friend of mine and Katie Vick is dead, but I didn't kill her," Kane said. "I am not a murderer!" The crowd failed to deliver the big pop the backstage officials were probably hoping for. Kane explained that Katie used to come to his wrestling matches when he first started wrestling and was getting beat up every night. Kane said he took Katie to a party one night after a match, she had too much to drink, and he had to drive her car home. He said he swerved to avoid something in the road and ended up spinning off the road. Kane said his arm was broken and Katie was killed instantly. Triple H walked onto the stage and told Kane to tell the entire truth. Hunter said the other people at the party were interviewed by the police and reported that Kane had been drinking. Triple H accused Kane of being in love with Katie, but said Katie only thought of Kane as a friend. Hunter said an autopsy revealed Kane's semen was found in Katie. Triple H asked Kane whether he forced himself on Katie while she was alive or waited until she was dead...
(Commentary: Um, didn't Paul Bearer used to keep Kane locked up or something like that? Along those same lines, when did Kane get beat up during his early WWE days? Why am I trying to make sense out of any of this? Nevermind.)
Backstage, Hurricane tried to talk with Kane, but he blew him off and left the building...
Ring introductions took place for the Victoria & Molly Holly vs. Trish Stratus & Jacqueline (with Stacy Keibler as special referee) match...
5th Quarter Hour
(4) Trish Stratus & Jacqueline beat Victoria & Molly Holly with Stacy Keibler as special referee at 3:53. After nearly four minutes of miserable in-ring action, Stacy took a terrible bump to the floor (the live crowd even booed). A second ref ran out and counted as Jacqueline pinned Molly. Afterward, Victoria attacked Trish and left her lying...
Backstage, Booker T, Spike Dudley, Goldust, and Tommy Dreamer grabbed their straps and geared up for their roles as Canadian lumberjacks...
[Commercial break]
Eric Bischoff hyped the Triple H vs. Kane pay-per-view match. He said the match was special because "it will be the last time that the Intercontinental Title is represented." Bischoff introduced Pat Patterson, the first Intercontinental Champion (who won the title at a fictitious tournament in Rio). Patterson walked to the ring to Mae Young and Fabulous Moolah's music and received a polite reaction. Patterson spoke in French to the French-Canadian crowd and received a nice pop for doing so. Bischoff interrupted Patterson and asked him to speak English, which drew boos from the crowd. Patterson told Bischoff he doesn't trust him. "Therefore, if you have any plans to play any games tonight..." Bischoff interrupted Patterson to assure him that there wouldn't be a Three Minute Warning.
6th Quarter Hour
Bischoff directed Patterson to watch TitanTron as a video feature aired on the history of the WWE Intercontinental Title. The footage included clips of Bret Hart, Davey Boy Smith, Steve Austin, Owen Hart (the infamous piledriver that injured Austin), Rocky Maivia (Austin throwing his title belt into the river), Jeff Jarrett, Chyna (beating Jarrett to win the belt), and old-timers such as Patterson, Pedro Morales, Honkytonk Man (The Greatest Intercontinental Champion of All-Time!!!), and Don Muraco. After the video ended, Patterson smiled in the ring. Bischoff ducked out, and then Rosey and Jamal hit the ring for their usual attack. "Hey, Pat," Bischoff said. "Just like the Intercontinental Title, your three minutes are just about up." Gerald Brisco ran out to save Patterson, but was squashed as well. Big Show and out carrying a strap and whipped Rosey & Jamal. Eventually, D-Lo Brown and Jeff Hardy ran out and helped Show finish the job...
A shot aired of Bret Hart preparing to make his ring entrance while his music played in the background. Suddenly, a graphic aired on the screen that noted "WWE Anthology" is going to be released soon...
(Commentary: It didn't make any sense to have Big Show play a babyface and save Patterson and Brisco a short time before he is scheduled to wrestle as a heel against Booker in a falls count anywhere match. I guess we'll find out if they thought about that soon enough.)
[Commercial break]
Backstage, Al Snow jokingly recalled all of the times he humiliated Chris Nowinski during their days on Tough Enough. Snow got serious, shook Nowinski's hand, and said he is proud of him for continuing to chase his dream. Nowinski shook Snow's hand but then sarcastically quipped, "Nice loss tonight," before walking away...
(5) Chris Nowinski beat Tommy Dreamer at 2:40. Al Snow walked to ringside and pulled a kendo stick away from Dreamer, which led to Nowinski scoring the pin. After the match, Snow backed up the stage while he and Nowinski stared at one another from a distance...
(Commentary: Just to follow up on the Kane story, Triple H did point out that Kane was never charged with any wrongdoing.)
Backstage, Terri interviewed Triple H, who said he was simply "reporting the facts" about Kane. "Do you think I want to get in the ring with a murderer?" Triple H asked. Hunter then told Terri to be careful while hanging out with Kane because "he has a penchant for hurting those he cares about." Triple H started to walk away and the camera cut to black momentarily. Triple H re-entered the picture and hyped his match against RVD...

7th Quarter Hour
The Randy Orton video aired. Jim Ross introduced Orton as "a blue-chipper" who has run into some misfortune. "I have some horrible news," Orton said. "Randy Orton tore his shoulder this week." Orton said the doctors told him that it would take him nine months to recover, but he said he would come back in only three or four months. Orton directed fans to e-mail him at an address that popped up on the TitanTron to wish him a speedy recovery. The crowd chanted the "Goodbye" song. Orton noted that he was in Montreal, where Bret Hart was screwed. He said he was also screwed in Montreal and added, "Unlike Bret Hart, Randy Orton will be back."
(Commentary: A fun promo. It's nice to see WWE had the heel turn planned and was not trying to force feed him to the fans. The push is similar to the way Rocky Maivia was pushed early on, only WWE actually believed the hard push was going to get Rocky over as a babyface. It backfired, he turned heel, and the rest is history.)
[Commercial break]
(6) Big Show beat Booker T in a falls count anywhere match when Chris Jericho interfered at 5:22. The fought their way through the crowd and into a narrow hall in the backstage area.
8th Quarter Hour
While backstage, the camera showed Ric Flair directing Triple H, who was driving a forklift, to follow him. In an obvious play on the Nicole Bass trial, Show and Booker fought their way into the women's locker room shower where Trish was wrapped in a towel. Jericho, who was mistakenly shown on camera a few second earlier, entered the shower and attacked Booker from behind. Show capitalized and scored the pin. Very predictable...
Backstage, Triple H parked the forklift in front of a locker room. He said he had a hunch that some of the lumberjacks wouldn't be able to be at ringside, meaning he locked them in the locker room...
[Commercial break]
(7) Triple H (w/Ric Flair) beat Rob Van Dam in a Canadian lumberjack match at 10:36. Rosey, Jamal, Chris Jericho, William Regal, Lance Storm, Rico, Christian, Chris Nowinski, and Big Show served as the lumberjacks for the match while the babyfaces were locked backstage. Keep in mind, Booker T was not locked in the room with the others because he was being beaten up in the shower at the same time Triple H was locking the faces in. Triple H dominated the opening minutes of the match by throwing Van Dam to ringside and letting the lumberjacks have their way with him. Van Dam got in a hope spot by diving over the top rope and onto the lumberjacks, but returned to playing the whipping boy moments later. With RVD lying on the mat in front of him, Triple H mocked him by pointing at himself in RVD style.
9th Quarter Hour
Kane was also not amongst the babyfaces who is locked up backstage, and he's probably even more likely to run in on the match than Booker is. Van Dam started to make another comeback at 9:00. He set up Triple H for the Frogsplash, but Jericho pulled him from the ropes. Booker T (not Kane) walked onto the stage and was followed by the group of babyfaces who were trapped inside the locker room earlier. While the babyfaces and heels battled outside, Van Dam made a comeback inside the ring. Ric Flair saved the day for Triple H by hitting Van Dam with the title belt, which led to the pin.
Sure enough, Kane ran out after the match and attacked Triple H and Flair. The other heels ganged up on Kane long enough for Hunter and Flair to escape the ring and watch the action from the ramp. After fighting off some of the heels, it came down to Rosey & Jamal vs. Kane. No surprise, Kane fought them off and talked trash from a distance with Triple H to end the show...
