WWE News: Punk-Morrison ECW TItle spoiler, plus news of IC Title match on Raw Sep 1, 2007 - 10:02:00 PM
WWE.com has already headlined with it, so it's going to be difficult to avoid the news that tonight in Cincinnati, Ohio, C.M. Punk defeated John Morrison to capture the ECW Hvt. Title in a match that was taped to air on Tuesday.
Batista and Chavo Guerrero also wrestled on the Smackdown tapings. Both were listed in media reports as customers of the pharmacy. Chavo purchased drugs as late as May 2006 according to Sports Illustrated. ESPN named Batista as a customer, but did not include dates of his purchases, so it's not known yet publicly whether his purchases stopped before the Wellness Policy was instituted.
It does appear that wrestles due to be suspended will be appearing on one final TV taping as Umaga will be defending the Intercontinental Title against Jeff Hardy on Raw, which is being taped Sunday night to air on Monday. A title change is likely there since Umaga is expected to be among those suspended since he was named as receiving somtropin (a growth hormone) between July and December 2006.
