WWE News: Major news on late WWE star Chris Benoit to be delivered tomorrow by his father Sep 4, 2007 - 10:42:00 PM
Michael Benoit, the father of the late Chris Benoit, will be revealing the findings of a neurological post-mortem examination of Chris tomorrow in a series of major media appearances. He is expected to announce that Benoit had a condition called "frontal lobe syndromes," a result of repeated head trauma that can cause "emotional and/or social withdrawal" and "aggression, outbursts of rage, and violent behavior."
Michael Benoit is scheduled to be on "Good Morning America" on ABC first in the morning, followed by may other media appearances ending with ABC's "Nightline."
He will be doing a lot of radio shows throughout the day in what will amount to his attempt to "clear his son's name" by testifying to medical indications that Benoit truly was suffering from a condition that fundamentally changed who he was and his ability to control his actions.
What isn't know at this point is whether this will reflect positively or negatively on WWE. It depends on several factors, including whether testosterone contributed to his condition and whether WWE should have or could have seen indications of this condition through its "wellness program." Michael Benoit is expected to address his belief of WWE's culpability in his interview in the morning. One source says what Michael has to say will be a "bombshell," but whether it goes beyond what's stated above isn't known tonight.
Irv Muchnick, who is writing a book about Chris Benoit to be published next year, has updated his blog with details on this situation: Preview of Findings on Chris Benoit's Brain.
