WWE News: Raw down to a 3.2 rating, lowest early October rating since 1997 Oct 3, 2007 - 8:24:11 PM
This week's Raw drew a 3.2 rating. That is down from last year's 3.6 rating for the first show in October, and way down from the 4.4 rating Raw popped two years ago. It drew a 3.4 the previous two years on the first episode in October, so it's not far off from that. But given that they gave away two marquee main events (Triple H vs. Vince McMahon, John Cena vs. Mr. Kennedy), it's a disappointing rating to be sure.
Raw drew a 5.9 on Oct. 4, 1999. You have to go back ten years to Oct. 6, 1997 for a lower rated Raw at the start of October when it drew a 3.0 rating, which was the show when the death of Brian Pillman was announced; it headlined with Triple H vs. Bret Hart, plus featured Owen Hart vs. Hawk, Marc Mero vs. Miguel Perez, British Bulldog vs. Rocky Maivia (The Rock), and The Head Bangers vs. The Godwinns.
