Shawn Michaels was brought back to WWE earlier than planned due to the John Cena injury. He was scheduled to be medically cleared to return in about a month, but sought out and received early clearance in order to help out in a pinch. He always planned to return, but it wasn't scheduled tentatively until November, December, or January.
